I've checked Google and everywhere and I can't find any answers to my problems.
I'm going online with PSO for the first time and just bought a GC Modem adapter, but I'm having trouble connecting to the internet, even though I'm sure my phoneline can do so.
Every time I try to connect I get "failed to make a call, check the connection". The connection is fine and all the cables are hooked up accordingly I think, so I'm thinking I entered something wrong.
My questions:
1. In the Setup menu, do my UserID and Password matter? Do I make them up or does it have to be something very specific that I'm supposed to know?
2. When entering a local access telephone number, what should the format be when entering it? ie 321-555-9001, or would it be 1-321-555-9001, or 3215559001, or what? Do I need to include dashes, spaces, the area code, the 1 before the area code, etc?
3. I found a list of local access telephone numbers in my area online, and tried using them, but to no avail. Does it need to be a specific number I have to call my ISP for?
Forgive me, I'm a total clutz when it comes to technical things like this :-? ....
