Personally, I would probably go for a 'Yes' to this, as long as it was balanced and didn't effect the gameplay available. Maybe an introduction later after release would be effective.

One of the Arguments, and one I kind of agree with, is that by the 3 race 3 class system, there's no real 'Melee' Specialists.

However, Really, Beasts should be more the poor tech users, or no techs at all. Personally, I think Casts should not be able to use techs, but rather weapons that aid tech use...

Naff ideas, but a Lightning gun for Zonde use, and a sort of syringe weapon with a small AoE For self and party healing?

Of course, this should only happen if beasts were to be included, because without them, the Cast's big pull is the highest ATP stats, basically, leading to both good Rangers and Hunters.

If beasts were included This would probably make the Casts, as in their PSU Role, a predominantly ranged class, with Beasts taking the mantle of the Heavy short-range assault.

I reckon Sega will Include it, because the lack of it may alienate some PSU Players, and a lot of the PSO Fanbase are only mildly, or not at all opposed to it, if not in support. It's likely to attract more players than it will turn away.

I mean, would you give up playing it because of Beasts being included? Personally, for me this would be a no.

Instead of simply removing techs like casts, they could remove techs, give them average attack power, and then have their gameplay revolve around nanoblasting.

Like, a nanoblast that doesn't COMPLETELY alter your physical form, but kind of gives you a "50%" form, you know? And they could save the "100% NANOBLAST CARNAGE" for, like, a Rage Bar (SUV, Mirage Blast, ect) or something. The regular nanoblast could be controlled through a seperate bar that acts somewhat like the TP bar from PSO, which was pretty hard / expensive to keep high. They could take it even farther with customizable transformations, that increase certian stats and give different abilities than others.

I dunno, it'd be more fun than just Human/Newman with high attack power. They could be like Forces, except take the "glass cannon" concept into like a "wooden cannon" kind of thing, you know? Conserving your Nanoblast energy and knowing when to shift between regular and super form and stuff.

It allows them to be a sort of Hunter/Ranger + Beserker class. Just something i thought of in the car this morning. But whatever they do, i dont really care for a "super inaccurate human/newman class that turns into a beast" idea. Not very creative. Mainly because since the game already has a Melee, Ranged and Magic class (Human, Cast and Newman respectively), Beasts just kind of float in the middle, and with their PSU nature (strong but inaccurate and low technic ability) they just kind of...usurp humans. I'd want something more unique. So, if they're gonna be a "third hunter class", i'd expect them to play completely different, not just allow you to mash buttons and watch big numbers pop up.

Newman hunters have to deal with lower damage and health and mix magic with melee. Cast hunters have to deal with no technique use (no healing, buffing or spells), but get traps and special perks like fewer abnormalities to worry about and trap vision. Humans are the inbetween. Beasts really wouldn't have their own group to fit into if they were the same as in PSU -- lower accuracy could always be used, but thats just more annoying than anything and can easily be exploited.

Only way i think they could implement PSU beasts and have them still feel unique is if they have some really varied attack animations.

Actually a reinforced wood cannon and shoot just fine for a while. explosions like that take the path of least resistance and so as long as you don't plug the muzzle, a wood cannon works fine. just because the wood is more pliable than metal you don't get as much power.

You can actually make a cannon out of duct tape if you use enough.

The fact that the pieces are on fire would be the part that is worse. Say you have a lot of people within the blast explosion they catch on fire and then they spread the fire to everyone else in their panic.

Yes. Also wearing bikinis, Rappy Suits, and other "frivolous" outfits is apparently "atmosphere-breaking", as well...

...but using guitars, golf clubs, frying pans, butterfly nets, and fairy wands as weapons (and having ChuChu mags, Rappy mags, etc.) in PSO wasn't. Flawless logic.

Don't even know where to being with this, MANY games don't do anything of the sort and I don't think I need to waste time listing any.

Gag items really never have the potential to be more than that, good for some lulz, but for "normal" play I could almost guarantee you probably will have something better already. Hence they aren't much of a problem as non stat effecting clothing or the like as people will tend to "drop" them for something better.

Also I recommend you buy TF2 and pain your hats neon green / pink or the like, some easy "atmosphere breaking" trolling there.

Maybe I should have sigged by now that while I dislike those sort of outfits I doubt I'll leave a party or something because of it, think I've said it enough times now.

The HUnewearl while showing off her "assets" is nowhere close to something as ye old classic examples of bikinis and bath towels, here at least they are trying to make it "fit."

Fine to use "I've payed for it or will pay" when the game is out or at least the game confirmed those type of costumes, just right now it isn't even valid to be throwing around.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I'm sure someone, somewhere, will eventually say her boobs are too big for a "serious" game, or her bellybutton shouldn't be exposed because PSO2 is "serious", or something exceedingly dumb like that. Remember, like you mentioned, people were bitching about her stance; about how her spine was "curved", or whatever. Even though that's just ridiculously nitpicky, they still droned on and on about it for a while.

They'll find something to complain about, no matter what. I guarantee this.

I just feel like busting chops right now, since people usually like to bust mine. :-P

Well if the game is suppose to have a darker tone and not so much as a upbeat,friendship saves the world type,they should stick to the theme showed in the trailer.(Fan service is good,but it's a fine line between PSU clothes and PSO clothes,I wanna see how they manage that.Since the game is called PSO2,NOT PSU2.)

From Sega's seat I wouldn't see it as so foolish, I mean after 5 years 360 PSU is still "alive" enough to keep up isn't it?

It's shown them that some people will still pay even being years late and "abused." If they end up making PSO2 global it means they will have to do both the English side and Japanese at once (....and languages beyond those 2 exist.) The English side is never going to be their main audience that's gonna be raking in the dough and they've shown to be really damn loyal so why should they give them "first class" treatment? If they "cared" enough about their audience outside Japan wouldn't they already even have made a small announcement that it's coming outside?

You can reason however you want. Doesn't change the fact that it's a hilariously stupid thing to complain about. But, if people want to waste their time bitching about something so trivial, I won't stop them.

The fact that the pieces are on fire would be the part that is worse. Say you have a lot of people within the blast explosion they catch on fire and then they spread the fire to everyone else in their panic.

= All stats at one, no gain in stats. Period. Including HP.
= Can only use two weapons, Bad English (ATA 1, ATP 1) and Copyright Infringement (ATA 10, ATP 2000, Lv. 200 requirement).

= Starts off with 1.4 billion Scape Dolls, and gains roughly 5000 each day.

See the problem is that the forum this topic is posted in, is incredibly misleading. It implies that threads here are to discuss PSO2, when in fact, it's to debate a)Which is better PSO or PSU, b)Why console are worse than PC, or c)Why Sega is racist for making (insert whatever race you're upset about here).

On rare occasions you can get a productive/mature discussion going, but more often than not it turns into an "I'm right you're wrong" topic that derails horribly.

On topic however: I'd love to see beasts return since it will offer more customization in the game, and so far I've never found more options to be a bad thing.

you totally missed the RACE part. he doesn't mean like HURAcaseal. he just means HU RA FO+ the 3-4 races + gender. in PSO it was 12 for HUcast, HUcaseal, Humar, HUnewearl, etc. there was a picture with 27 pictures and assume...ASSUMING each picture represents a different one, that's 27. Races/class combos. again...not a combinations of classes, but a combination of race and class.

More than likely. The PSP2 concept art spreads they released back when it first came out showcased all the standard player models, as well as all the storyline NPCs. I'm sure they did the same with the PSO2 spread.

Yeah, there's no way they could have that many race/gender/class combinations! I only wanted the original 12 choices but now I'm intrigued by this photo. I might be swinging towards more races now. Probably just my imagination running away w/me again.

I wouldn't be surprised if PSU concept art was on that wall too. But then they'd have no reason to blur it other than trolling so I doubt it...

well if you assume there are only the original 3 races and the original 3 classes. and they do decide to allow any race to be any class, but still lock you into your choice, that's 18 pictures right there. assuming there would also be a braver/vanguard type class that's 24. if beasts were to make it in, that would be 32.

Now if you assume that casts and beasts cannot be forces, that brings us down to 28. looking at some of those pctures though, it's clear some of them are not of characters designs. like one looks like it could be mags or some other type of partner machine and a few really do look like they're intended to be NPCs, vehicles or bosses. in fact I'd say at least 3 maybe 5 pictures are not of playable characters. Again, its all guessing, but that's my estimation.

Oh, they're more then capable. PSP2i was just a game where they didn't give a shit about how retarded something was, be it gameplay/attack related or fashion related. Hence the beast outfits, dumans, and charge shot 2.

Of course....AotI had that PA where you swam through the air like a dumbass. And it also gave us Voloyal too X_x

I would ask "why didn't you like the Charge Shot IIs?", or "What do you care if other people wore the Voloyal Set? You didn't have to.", but either of those would probably just get you on one of your tirades again. So, I won't.
