Good Evening My fellow players, i have recently got this game and started playing,
What now.
What Race is worth playing
What Class is worth leveling
Are there better drops in other systems (planets vs space station)

Is there like a clan/gang/guild that i will be able to join, I know it seems like a lot of question but the stickies are old and wont answer all of my questions so i did the next best thing. ASKING PSOWORLD.

Update : just hit lvl 14 hunter lvl 2
Name is Fonzy, Gamer Tag: Wencanibeat
Invite me so i can learn the ropes or invite me to you clan/gang/guild.

The Fonz,

What race/class depends on preference. Start by choosing what you want to do in the field: Ie. Guns, close combat, attack tech, support tech...

Once that decision is made the choice for race will be obvious.

There are different drops from each mission, planet, mob etc. One planet is not better than another.

Clans in my mind are a waste of time. As with any clan or social structure you will find a small percentage of the people benefitting greatly from the majority. Find friends rather than clans/guilds would be my advice.

Finally, use the psupedia to your advantage. It is very easy to navigate and should help you get started in making the decisions you need make as well as help you find the drops you're looking for.

Hope this gets the ball rolling.

Honestly you can roll any race as whatever job and get away with it in most cases. for example a beast can play a gunner class just as well as a cast would thanks to the ranger jobs excessive accuracy boost, and that accuracy usually doesn't count for much if you're within a 30 level range of the monsters. I wouldn't reccomend playing a job that relies heavily on techs with anything other then neuman or human though. Acrotecher can be whatever as you can use melee or ranged to compensate for techs while only really losing out on healing.

I agree with NiceOnes about the clan/guild thing. They're a waste of time, and most of them are usually just some sort of elaborate scam or hoax to make you do work for the clan "superiors" that they don't want to do themselves (i.e., farming rares, leveling other new members, etc.)

But, even if you do manage to find a legitimate, honest clan, it usually doesn't last long. There's always someone that starts drama (big surprise) and more or less destroys the clan from the inside out. I know that from more than one personal experience.

All that being said, just find a group of good people, and play with them all the time. Having a group of close-knit friends is kind of like a clan, but without the drama, and people forcing you to do things you don't want to do.

The only clans worth being part of are those that don't refer to themselves as such. Join some random parties in Absolue Zero with your mic to hand, if people are friendly they'll either talk to you or invite you to an XBL party. Hunt them down on subsequent days, make friends... stuff like that sticks. One of my best friends on XBL I met while talking about lolicon, for instance.

Human is a decent choice for a first character, they're more customisable at the endgame. Everything a human can do, someone else can do better as the same class, but human has the luxury of never being the worst.

CASTs are worth playing because of the SUV-weapon. They're best at anything that uses physical damage due to having the second highest attack and the highest accuracy (Beasts have highest attack but lowest accuracy) ensuring you'll hit more often, for more damage overall, than anyone else. The SUV-weapon also adds a nice burst of damage when it's charged, and a short burst of invincibility while the damage is done.

Beasts are there for big numbers, I have three beasts between my 8 characters as I love them but in all honesty their novelty ability, the Nanoblast, is just that: a novelty. They lose the ability to heal, and even the pwoer beast ends up doing less damage than he would in humanoid form with photon arts. Still, they put out big numbers, and with classes with high accuracy such as Acrofighter and Gunmaster they're a force to be reckoned with.

Newmans are Forces. If you like making big flashy fireworks happen... a newman might eventyally be able to do that. Spells take a lot of levelling, or so it feels, for mediocre returns and the added handicap of bad health. Spells do, however, always do damage when they hit, and only hit for 0 when an enemy is invincible or immune specifically to spells.

As for classes, most people go with their race's favoured class, which is Beast Fortefighter, CAST Fortegunner, or Newman Fortetecher, then max that out and move on to the relevant Master class. Humans get a bonus to every hybrid class, but never enough to make them as strong as a Beast or smart as a Newman in the same job. And some people like to play the dumbshit choices like CAST Masterforce because, hey, why the hell not? It's an easy enough game and bringing the best out of a bad combo is pretty fun to some people.

Hope to see you in-game, and keep doing that Absolute Zero; it's "only" around for another month and a half!

I've seen that happen a lot recently. Many players aren't friendly to newbies, so please be wary of others offering to sell you an "awesome", "powerful", or "legendary" (which in PSU, there's no such thing as a "legendary weapon") item. They're most likely trying to take advantage of your "new player ignorance".

On a related note: PSO-World doesn't exactly have the best item database. As NiceOnes pointed out, go to the PSUpedia (http://psupedia.info/Main_Page). They have everything that's in the game (and some things that aren't yet!) right at your fingertips.

Here's some tips on fortefighter I've found useful in the past: First off build up a pure striking PM as soon r as possible, it may seem costly but in the long run it will save you a fortune since making you weapons is a lot cheaper than buying them.

Save all the elemental photons you can and buy some A rank wep boards (9* if possible). and start with thos, if you can manage to get some high % 9* weps it will give you a huge advantage early on as most 40%+ 9*s can out damage their 10-11* counterparts. Plus it's a lot cheaper since you can purchase 9* boards at any synthesis shop.

If you'd like some help getting started feel free to add me, my GT is WizardlyOgre. I'm usually on in the mornings or late at night on the days I work and am looking for more freindly ppl to run with. Good luck and happy hunting ^.-

one question tho Ive been looking for the casino how in the hell do i get there.

Go to the Moatoob central flyer gate. From there, do the following missions:

-Valley of Carnage
-Mine Defense
-Tunnel Recapture
-Caves of Ice
-Awoken Serpent

and after you finish Awoken Serpent, and head through, you'll be in the casino.

ok quick question
last night i found a group to run frozen flowers b on server 2
then joined them on a rare run, it went good until the end where on the random rare drops the generated pick was me on winning crea doubles, they started complaining once they saw that i won. My question is was it fair of them to force me to give it to them since it was their choice not mine to run with them on the rare run or should I have just kept the weapon. out of the group i was the one with the worst crap of weapons ( petty A rank weapons).
There went my only chance on getting a good weapon. Im not that down on the Fact that happen I was just stumped that some one cried over a weapon.

Well thank for reading The Fonz is full of AWESOMENESS please invite me to your runz Ill do my best
