If I have 240 base ATA (max for RAmarl) with one god/arm (worth 15 ATA) and I gain a level, will the "REAL" base ATA still raise? In other words, if I unequip that god/arm after gaining the level, will my ATA be 226? Or is there a max stat bug similar to the one that Nites posted a few months ago, where you end up losing stats from maxing too early?

Can any higher level characters confirm that this does or does not happen on GC? Thanks very much in advance.

Well, it hasn't happened to my FOmar with MST. I've had maxed MST for quite some time with units equipped and my base still goes up each time I gain a level.

Yes, it will still raise. I've had my ATA maxed on my Huney with mag and units since early 100's. And now it's at the max base possible (147) w/o anything equipped. The only thing is when you take off your equipment, it will sometimes show that your stat did not increase. You just gotta check again or re-equip/unequip your stuff and it will show.
