A friend of mine told me that 251 mem cards corrupt easier than 59...then another friend said that 59 mem cards dont even corrupt anymore. I dunno bout the 2nd "theory" but i just wanna find out the truth...and if need be get rid of a friends false sense of security(he wont be a happy camper if he corrupts). Any replies would be a big help thankies http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif *trembles* i dont know if i put this in the right spot... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cry.gif dont hurt me http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_innocent.gif

Hmn.

From what I (or anyone that I know) knows, memory cards don't matter as far as corruption goes. ^_^; Corruption is mainly caused by the game freezing, being turned off during, or otherwise inturrupted during a save. There are other ways, but I sadly (or thankfully?) don't know of them. So, in all reality, it doesn't matter WHAT card you use - the number of blocks only says how many blocks of space can be saved on the card. Corruption is the game's fault to my knowledge, sadly.

Unoffical cards seem to have a higher corrupt rate however.

The quality of the memory can have something to do with it, which is really the only reason why third-party memory cards tend to fail more often than first-party ones.

Also, cards which used compressed memory, such as those 10X storage dealies and the like, are quite unstable, and should not be used. With those, your data is created and compressed instantly. It's like making a ZIP file on your computer. You're doing it over and over again to the same piece of data... compressing it, decompressing it, compressing it, and so on. Eventually, you're going to get an error.

I recommend that you simply stick with first party cards and licensed third party cards. Mad Catz may be third party, but they're licensed, and also offer a lifetime guarantee.

Just choose wisely. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'd reccomend getting a 16X card...faster than a 251 I'll tell you that. Me and my cousin have this game and he's got a 251 and I have an Interact 16X card (1000+ blocks of memory, shweet!!!) and his takes about 5 seconds to save. Mine, it takes about half a second about. Blink, Blink, done.http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Simpson's Paradox!
Maybe more people have more of the card that is thought to corrupt more, and a bad association is made. You'd need to compare the relative frequencies of corrupt:non-corrupt per type of card to have even a decent hypothesis.

Yeah, I know I'm a bit late into the subject but, I don't actually think it has anything to do with the block storage, I have heard that before though. But who knows? I'm just a kid who is trying to help out! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Well, I was talking about the Nintendo made ones. I have heard rumors about secondary producer-made ones really fudging up your stuff online. Maybe it's a defensive strategy since it is not Nintendo made? I have no clue...
