I don't know if your ps3 is dead for good. My household PS3 took three attempts to fix before it seemed stable for more than a day however lately it hasn't been used much to see if the fix is a lasting success.

I don't know if this will help, but on the last attempt, before the heating, no clean flux was added. The CPU and GPU was heated up for two minutes apiece using a heat gun. After they cooled down, a very thin layer of arctic silver was applied using a bare finger instead of a credit card. There is a YouTube video on the bare finger method.
