I have set up my modem ok and have got my hunters license. I'm in the UK and use Freeserve as my provider. I can log onto the ships and talk for hours in the visual lobbey, but when I join or start a game I get 'No.100 line disconnected' everytime and my character files are corrupt.I have tried an alternative provider and the same thing happens. Has anyone had this, and does anyone know how to get around the problem. I would be very grateful for some help.
Thanks

Are you using an official memory card?

I'm also from the uk and using freeserve but I can't get online. I keep getting the message "no carrier found". Is there anyway you can help me?
Atleast now I know freeserve works! O_O/

In normal english, 'No carier found' means no dial
tone.
This is usualy caused by British telecoms free 1571 answer service, which acts as an answerphone when your line is engaged or the phone is left ringing for a while, you are alerted to new mesgaes on your answer service by a dial tone that goes on and off, to retreive your message dial 1571.
Because the dial tone is going on and off the Gamecube modem ( and any other modem) thinks that no dial tone is present, so you wnot be able to conect.
To get round this, you can do the folowing
Set your modem up so that it dials without waiting for a dial tone ( not sure if you can do this on the GC modem)
Pick up the phone and clear the 1571 messages beofore you conect with your Gamecube.
If you dont have a BT line ( BT have something like 90% of all uk phone lines), or this isnt causing your problem, pick up the phone and listen in as your gamecube conects to pso, you should hear something like this..
continous dial tone, breif pause, dial tone, dialing sound, modem noise( from the gamecube)breif pause, modem noise ( from freeserve/isp) general modem noise.
Is the Modem set up for tone or pulse dialing?
All (UK) modern phones use tone dial ( since about the mid 1980's), but (UK) telephone exchanges are able to acept and process both the old pulse dial and tone dial type phones.
If the modem is set to tone dial, try pulse ( the gamecube may make a clicking sound as it conects)
hope this helps.

I have to have it set to either tone or pulse but neither are working. Although it has "outside line" listed underneath them. Not sure if that means anything though.
It dials the number but then the womans comes on saying "the number has not been recognised, please hang up and try again" for a while then I get the same message as before. How would I get rid of the answer service?
