It's quite possible that those doors are set up to open when a Space Pirate gets close when there's nothing around that could be considered a threat (aka you). You remember that door area that says something like "This door will only open near signs of Space Pirate life" when you scan it? If I had to guess, I'd say all the other doors are something like that; Provided you're not around, the doors can be opened when a Space Pirate approaches and/or touches the door.

It can never be that simple, otherwise Samus would just have to find unlocking mechanism they use and take advantage of it to open all the doors in the base, even the ones she doesn't have the weapons for yet : 3

I mean, come on, how the hell do those star catapults even work for that matter, he always flys just right! The trajectory of flight is usually curved and does not fit any sort of actual gravitational pull half the time. Speaking of gravity, a large portion of small platforms and planets would not even be able to hold anything with their gravity without being incredibly dense! They're to small to even have an atmosphere, how could they even begin to support life? That's just dumb.
