I joined psu 360 like two-three weeks ago and theres already talk of it getting shut down =/ Somewhere deep inside I knew this would happen should I join the servers >_< Meh its an awesome game I literaly prefer this over world of warcrap and yes I've been a Phantasy Star player since I seen PSO EP 1&2 in a holiday game guide booklet from nintendo :O

The only thing that got shutdown was the Demo servers, the main servers will probably stay up for a while (maybe a few years?)
The PC/PS2 servers, the servers were only shutdown once the population reached really low numbers (the population in the most populated universe barely reached 1* at peak times).

PC/PS2 had full universes for some time before the hacking ensued.

Two stars is about the lowest it goes. Maybe one every now and then really early in the morning. At peak time we see 6-7 stars.

It won't happen anytime soon. Give it maybe 4-5 years, maybe longer. Unless they're making another PSU based on the extending story of PSU.

I don't see 360 shutting down until one of the following happens:

1.) Active subscriptions lower to the point of PC/PS2 close to the year's end.

2.) PSO2 gets released in the US.


There's still a full universe active almost every day. That's just active and playing, not subscribed. We've seen nearly two universes full at the most recently.

OLAF! MESSY! You two stalking me? T_T ANd Im usualy on the 4th observing the nature of my new server. And yeah Im gonna get away from there for sometime and such.

And yes Im loving 360 and should have came sooner but I was a ps2 fan a the time ^^; Glad I finaly got me a 360 and my HDD to finaly make the jump.

Somehow I get the feeling that if PSO2 comes out on consoles the PSU servers will suddenly become very quiet, well one way or another I don't think PSU will be up much longer:sad:

Key word is IF. Right now PSO2 is slated PC only. As long as it stays PC only I don't see it having a huge impact on PSU. Most consol players tend to stay conslols. What will kill PSU will be when Sega stops releasing updates and even then look how long PSOX lasted after the updates stopped.

Not soon. What we can expect is a long and painfully drawn out process as the GM's promise updates which are never delivered until Japan gets 15+ content updates all the while people stop caring and stop logging in until they pull the plug when PSO2 comes out. But I'm sure you can get in lots of painfully boring White Beast runs until then.
