Rare Hunting Doesn't Pay Off

I was rare hunting in Hard Caves. I just beat Del Rol Le. I opened the Item Boxes when I found a rare. I quickly opened the others and left. I whent to the Trekers first. I found out it was Talis. I said to my self "cool trading cards". And I looked at the stats and "Can Not Equp". I spent 2 hours diging in caves and I get a weapon that I can't equip. I have a force but he is too weak. The game hates me. Try playing the DC version ult mines for 100hrs just to find a Yamicov 9200M and not a Elysion which u 'could use' arrrrg

You have to try more than once or more than just 2 hours in order to find something good.........

If you've targeted a weapon that you can't use, that's your own fault.

Say you're a hunter in real life and you go deer hunting. After you kill one, you go "Dammit, I don't want this - What I really wanted to do is go duck hunting."

oh, yes, i found a yasminkov9000 on dreamcast too, i even made a RAcast for this ^_^;

other than that - try to trade it - and when you plan on leveling a FOmar, whats the problem? something to look forward to use, isnt it? its the same with me and my flowen sword (soon! soon i'll wield you!! just wait)

I have found that rares are best found when just playing/leveling. Just plain having fun. just a week ago, me, hent0pia and my friend, Seth, HUmar, ran into a Hildetore in HS, the tight room with 2 Hildelts drop, he drops a Frozen Shooter. Well none of us were looking for one and really all we do is have fun. The rares are just part of the game to us. Have fun!

I always find stuff just before I am getting ready to leave a game.
The pull of this game is insane sometimes. The "I wonder what I could get if I play a little while longer" aspect can be cruel.
Espcially bad in your case, because now you need to keep playing just to use your new weapon.

Man I love this game.

lol, I dont get that to much, i just get tired of geting dbs sabers each day, but yesterday was my day i found a last survier, crush bullet, dbs saber, pdrop x 3, amp of yellow, flowen's sword, gobooma right arm, g-assaian arms. dont give up keep. I dont always find alot i normaly find 1 or 2 rares a day.

I aimed for just any rare that I can use. I was playing for about 2 hours, but I keeped the game on for about 3 days. In the "Beat-Time-Rares" thing, wouldn't give me better rares, or is the rare I got a good rare (unlike DB Saber)?

Tips for good rarehunts:

-Make an online game and lock it. You want to be alone. Accept buddies only if they want quick level ups (AKA, one Razonde, and you finish the pack)
-Get your fastest and cheapest weapon. Whatever is closest to a Spread Needle or something like that, whatever.
-Choose any location; Mines and Forest are among my top ones, simply because they are fun to go through and have few doors requiring multiple players to unlock.
-Go through every room, beat every monster and open every box. Fetch all those ? weapons and those special weapons.

You might have to repeat this two or three times before you get a good stash. It's not the best method to find uber-rares, but if you need to fill up on good weapons and fast, that's my favorite method.

Considering the randomness of the weapon drops, I don't see how finding weapons your character can't use is the players fault. Or maybe you were trying to make a joke. O_o

I went red sword hunting. the hunt lasted 15 minutes lol. it was on redria, the final room of en2 a melqueek dropped. I r l337.

It's really just luck. Just be thankful that rares actually drop now, compared to v2. To ease your pain, do quests what spawn a lot of the enemy whose item you're after.

Don't worry about it, maybe your using the wrong ID. The game doesn't play favourites with it's user trust me... Besides you're not gonna find great rares on Hard. Your best bet is to just play for fun, 2 days ago I was just fooling around in Ult Forest I got me a Red Saber. Grinded it +78. Then gave it to my HUnewearl. She couldn't use it so I gave her a beefed up mag, a God/Power and some other Power units. Now, she weilds it like a pro! Give PSO a second chance, it'll always make it up to you.

i dont rare hunt anymore. what drops is no big deal to me. anything that i find i can usually give away on polaris.

today was a bit different. wasnt doing anything special, just trying to get veryhard mines unlocked. as i was pondering how low my skyly fomar's def is and something cool happened. i noticed an annoying slime, but it was a red one this time. i have played this game since 2001 and have only seen one previous to this. i mused that it would probably just drop a monomate or 1100 meseta and was fully expecting to get zilch. but low-and-behold..... it dropped a red box! i am now the proud owner of a god body. this seems to solve the low def problem i was waxing about just prior to finding it.

the moral of this is; rare hunting is a fool's errand and rare finding is serendipity.

On V1 I just used to do V.Hard Forest runs. I didn't exactly care if I found something and generally when I did find something it would suck (my HUcast kept find Crush Bullets or Meteor Smashes o_0...then again, I had the wrong ID for him). Anyway, on the GC version I was running through Hard Caves and wasn't expecting to find any rares at all. I had just gotten into Hard mode and the only weapon I was concerned about was Musashi (lots of Forest runs 'til I get that, lol). Anyway, I walked into a room and wow, there was a Nar Lilly (my second nar lilly and third total rare enemy ever). Killed it and it dropped me a red box, I tekked it, and wa-la, my RAcast now owned a Photon Claw. But wait, my luck wasn't over. I returned back to the Caves and proceeded to clear out the room and got yet another red box in the same room, lol! That one was a M&A60 Vise mechgun. I can't use the gun, but the claw will most likely go to my HUcast for him to play with (I'm sure if I can boost his power enough that'll do him good in Normal Mode http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif).

Things like that happen to me, heh (I had been playing almost all night when that happened). But I like to hope that I will find a rare, but if I don't, that's cool. Ive been stuck offline now since i gotn the game last week, and im quite surprised by the amount of stuff i have found so far that is considered rare, stuff you would never have seen in v1 /v2 etc and its all coming easy. Makes me wonder why people feel the need to dupe it all.

But im not on a hunt for rare's, just enjoying myself and whatever comes comes.

and as for finding stuff i cant equip... im a pinkal HUnewearl, so most of the rare stuff ive found id force stuff but theres some good stuff anyway.
