When I play PSU (PC Japan) with some friends, I always can never see my PP bar drop when I pull off PAs with my Force, and whenever I hit my monsters, they don't initially get hurt. And I take a beating very often even though I really dodge attacks.

I ruled out the problem that my internet is slow because we all checked the internet speeds of our PCs and mines happened to have the biggest download speed. Before we get deeper into the dungeon, I always seem to disconnect randomly with a 057 error code. I also noticed that people are walking on spots, or not moving at all from certain intervals.

I also checked if my firewall is at fault but it had already granted permission when I installed it in my PC. Can anyone please help me identify what is wrong with my slow connection to the servers? :-?

I am using a Windows 7 x64-bit system with a 4GB ram so it runs smoothly enough and is at a widescreen resolution so it can run in HD qualities. Therefore my PC isn't lagging at graphic speed but only at internet speed towards other people in dungeons.

thankyou for your help in advance. ^^

http://www.pingtest.net/

Download speed, and connection speed are two different things. Try this and get back to me.

Everyone outside of Japan itself will have very significant ping when playing on the JP server, regardless of your connection speed. You will get used to it sooner or later.

my ping in JP server is ~300ms, Iam really used to this since US server (I live in Brazil), and JP server is even better (lower) than US... probably because internet/server quality

Higher = Worse.

I get around 275ms. In game it feels like a 0.5 Second delay.

What is the definite way to lower my ping? I heard that changing IP addresses and possibly trying to use proxy servers may do the trick but I don't know what to do to perform any of those methods.

The best thing to do is to deal with it.

Well, a fast guide:

Changing your external IP really can make a slight, but useful, difference on ping, according what ping you got, and its different for each internet

provider. Its very simple to do, since that your connection IP will be dynamic (IP change each time that you restart modem or reconect)
You can see your IP in:
http://www.whatsmyip.org
in top of page, you see big text with:
"Your IP Address is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX"
You need only restart your modem, or click on disconnect (if there are this option in modem page), wait a few seconds (variable for each internet

provider) and connect again, check your ip and see if its different.
For enter modem page, you need google for your modem model, because proccess is different for each one, for example, my modem is Speedstream 4200, for

modem page I go to my browser and type:
192.168.1.2
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/cristfc/modem1.png

Enter your default username/password for modem (google it too or see modem documentation for default user/pass), in image bellow, you can see my actual

connection IP (187.58.220.104):
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/cristfc/modem2.png

With this IP, my ping is 284ms (my actual record for JP server eheehe):
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/cristfc/modem3.png

What happen after I reconnect:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/cristfc/modem4.png
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/cristfc/modem5.png

no ip in this image because its my actual one :)

See? In full range, difference was 16ms, it can be a small amount, but makes difference (at least for me) when performing different actions for example,

put a lot of itens in your partner machine, which is really a pain if your ping is high.. common box is a lot faster, perhaps because item limit.

Too, different internet service providers (ISP) can result in lower/higher pings for specific countries, then you can make a pool with friends living in

same place that you (and with different ISPs) and see what ping your friends got to japanese server...

My previous ISP was really bad compared to my actual one, higher pings and so... My brother picked this new ISP before me, and told me that ping was a lot

better, and Iam really happy with this (not sure if my previous ISP will be "playable" on PSU JP)
Note that (how Siiepher said) ping has not to do with download speed... you can upgrade your download speed plan and ping will be the same (or

higher/worst according some ISP, believe me).

Too, dont expect got a awesome lower ping if you got a poor connection speed.

And play PSU without another application eating your bandwidth helps too (mainly if you have low bandwidth/slower upload speed)
And 694ms, hughhhh, its really bad =[
Hope that you can solve this...

thankyou for your informative instructions. I hope it works than to surrender and deal with it.
