The Great Arms Race is a competition between the three major weapons manufacturers. At the end of the event all players will receive a weapon from the manufacturer they are allied with – based on their performance during the event, however, the winning manufacturer will produce a weapon with extra-powerful stats!

Here’s a preview of what will be part of this update. The full website will be available immediately following maintenance:

well i'd vote for GRM and not play, specifically cuz i hate rifles :P

Used to think they were the greatest thing ever but then i realized that all my guns were stronger than my best rifle. Then I got the 15* rifle and realized that it was just above my twin handguns or equal with them so i stopped using them and caring about them. /rant

so wands are the most usefull and considering how much they are lacking in GC items i think they need a good wand over a rifle or axe (M25SE is way better with kevlar anyways! ... tho we've never seen the true full power of the firearm either.... hhhmm)

It was before, but they also got mini content updates on drip feed as GC items dropped into place. They'd had a fair few by this point, at least.

If you're talking about the weapon designs i don't think it matters if it was before or after since the item designs of the weapons from the last update (RSD trading post weapons and the weapon rewards from Door to Subspace) were of old weapons also.

Dont pick the spear unless you are really sure it has terrible ata 66 bad variance and its only 40% worst of all its light so once you get the updated monster for seed awakened s3 and dark satelite s3 you will not like that spear so much as 175-180 monsters have very high evp.

I've seen Yohmei only parties full of gunners, probably whats keeping them in the race. Actually I've yet to see such parties with forces in them.

I feel sorry for all the Xbox player at there. They are getting ripped off again, not just the event but in Passport to Subspace and the DP store as well. With Kabara idea weapons which sucks even tho they have the same stat's except the rod being the same with lower rank. I think it's the PS2 problem all over again with not being able to see the weapons as they are but with less content added then the PS2 ( JP one ). Any way good luck in the event.:)

yea i feel bad for xbox, they get smaller updates, their updates are far apart, they don't even get the way weapons look, their updates are all broken, and they are taking forever to get content they should've had a long time ago.

what they're saying is that this has already been happening on xbox for the past few updates. When Door to Subspace was added, all those new weapons and all the RSD trading weapons with that had old weapon designs instead of what they were supposed to look like.

Same with the RSD trade-ins that came with this event. And I wouldnt be surprised and so wouldnt others if these rewards share the design of old weapons too :P

Nivellum and Nivelhaze? I decided to look at those on PSUpedia. They're not even in the weapon viewer. So basically they cheated the players out of Exam and Ignis and renamed it to something else with DB sword reskins. LOL. What stopped them from not adding the second GAC content I wonder? yes u can. They have the exact same stats, grind the same, and you obtain them the exact same way. The only thing different, along with every other reskinned item, is the way it looks. (oh and the nivellum doesnt freeze! lame!)

Now, it would be so unfortunate if the models of the reward weapons from The Great Kubara Race come in default models instead of the real ones......seriously, they dont have any justification on those ones, since that data MUST exist on the Supp Update patch.

The Exam exists. The Japanese server has had it for a long time. The only reason the Xbox server does not have it is because SEGA is too lazy to update the game properly, instead going with reused weapon models and touting a slogan of "UNIQUE CONTENT!~" to fool chumps like you into believing nothing is amiss.

This "Japanese Server"....what server are we talking about isn't this the 360 server, so no they didn't update it wrong. This "Unique Content" seems to be going well from what I see we got a brand new weapon that this "Japanese Server" doesn't even have.

And from what I can tell this "Exam" isn't really a good weapon in stats, so what are we missing?

Its just a name changed weapon with a reskinned model because they couldn't be be assed to get the content the game is supposed to have at this point. As for the 360 server, its supposed to be unified with US/JP, since Japan only has "1" 360 server. That gets updated on their site... Whenever.

Its one thing to have the actual weapon, but leave it with a reskin till a future point in time. Its another thing to rename a weapon and give it a reskin, and suddenly call it "unique content", when it never was. No... Just no.

It isn't whenever, they have it planned it just takes a while to convert certain material to the 360 and it isn't cakewalk, take it too lightly and your going to have bugs like the "fighgrow" items.

The US 'version' of PSU is not a different game or even a different version of the game, it is the EXACT SAME GAME, but with a majority of new content delayed or simply unavailable. Those weapons people are calling 'unique' are simply incomplete, with quick hacks to fill in for content they haven't given us.

So if Sonic Team decided something like this then it's final, nothing else can be said about it. I know what the "Exam" is I have played PSP2 but going by evidence, in terms of PSU 360 no such weapon exists. I can datamine if I have to just to prove it waste of time that will be but, if that's the only way then okay.

With no weapon existing in the games data as the "Exam" we didn't miss anything. In fact we almost got the same content or rather the content that this version was meant to obtain, just because they have the same name and is the same game, there is a chance for two different versions so some content would be subject to change.

The lag on the Japanese servers is no worse than the lag European players experience every day on the 360 servers.

As for the language barrier, theres a decent amount of English players, and I've had little to no problems playing with Japanese players. In fact I've been kicked more times on the 360 servers than I have been on the JP servers.

Let's not forget the fact that on the JP version you get to use the PC client which is leagues better than the 360 version.

Well deal with it. There's a perfectly legitimate reason to complain here. The US servers got screwed over again and the latest PR twist on it is "Different versions". But if we really are to see them as different versions to excuse the lack of content and different weapons then I ask you the following question. Why should we pay for the 360 version when we can pay for the better Japanese version?

You forgot the new missions, new areas, new music, new weapons, Guardians Cash, Stamps, rebalancing, and many other changes.

The Japanese version is almost an entirely different game at this point. And you can play it on the PC, which makes it leagues better than playing on the 360.

Oh, and it's free to play.

See that's the problem with your logic. You are only thinking about the US sales. In Japan the Portable titles have sold quite well. The Japanese servers don't depend on US Sales. And the main reason the Portable titles are not selling well in the US is the same reason PSU didn't sell well. Sega of America wont properly advertise.

its pretty different. almost 2 years ahead in updates. Do you remember how PSU was 2 years ago? Was it the same game with a tad more items? D: i think it was a bit more than a tad lol

I quit 360 because after playing JP PSU for a while i just couldnt go back :/

Also I play Free Course but I probably end up paying just as much as I would in GC as I would for a monthly fee :P

There is another event where the "mass-produced"(ie. they have slightly worse stats) versions of the weapons will be released, but who knows if they will just end up giving us the Nug-2000/M, Motav Prophecy/M, and Berdysh/M istead of giving us a chance to get Firearm/M, Kongora/M, and Ank Gearz/M for that event.

Or they will likely just add more re skinned weapons with GC weapon names
