A man is on a hunting trip. He wakes up early in his camp, heads 1 mile South, and spots a bear. He shoots at it, and misses. The bear takes off to the East, so the hunter gives chase. After chasing East for a mile, the hunter shoots and kills the bear. He then loads the bear up in the apparatus he's brought to carry his quarry, and drags it a mile to the North, where he finds his camp, again.

What color was the bear?

Bullshit. Compasses always point South at the North Pole, and vice versa. Going off of a compass, technically he couldn't have been there, as he would have been able to tell direction. If he used the sun for direction, then I suppose that would work.

If I'm at the south pole (magnetic), I don't need anything to tell direction. I'm facing north. Period.
