Somebody asks for help on which class to pick...they say: "Im trying to make a new but i cant decide! Which one is best?". Im going to say one thing right now...
NO CLASS IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER!!!!!!!
That made clear, allow me to finish... The people who read this persons plight start saying crud like: "Pick RAmar! Its better!" and "Do FOnewm! Thats my favorite!" and "HUcast trumps them all!!!! Pick that one!". In answering like this, they completely ignore the persons dilemma. They DO NOT WANT YOUR OPINION ON WHICH IS BETTER! THEY WANT TO KNOW WHICH THEY SHOULD PLAY!!!!! I dont care if you like FOmars, or RAcasts, or HUnewms, or FOnewearls, that is YOUR SPECIFIC CLASS. Your favorite class may suck for the person and they will just end up deleting it. Each player has their own play style and that is the purpose of so many classes, to make a class that works for everybody. If you give your opinion on a class, tell why. (and no, "because it looks awesome!" is not a reason why.) tell them the statistics of the class, what that class has that others dont, the PLAY STYLE that class best fits. Example: Im a HUcast fanatic, but i dont go around trying to convert people to that mindset. (I used to when i was a n00b. Extreme emphasis on n00b.). I will tell people: "I like the HUcast. Because they have some of the best ATP in the game, have HP regen, and have access to some of the best melee and tank items in the game." And when someone cant decide between 2 classes, i weigh the two together, compare one to the other, and give pros and cons of both. THAT is how you help someone with this problem. NOT by telling them you favorite class.

STOP TELLING PEOPLE WHICH CLASS/ BUILD TO PLAY BASED ON YOUR PERSONAL OPINIONS!!!!!!!!!! IT DOES NOT HELP IN THE SLIGHTEST!!!!!!!!!!

That's one heck of a rant there. I'll tell you what I'm sick of, the entire "which class should I play" threads. From the same person we have 7 threads in the last 45 days about what class he should play, 5 of them ranger based. And on top of that we have 2 more threads from other players that could have just checked the existing threads. There opening posts are literally only one sentence long, and they promote short cruddy answers from people more worried about their post count than actually giving good advice. Once one veteran player posts the Pros and Cons of each class in these threads there's no more reason for anyone else to post, you'll see this with serious answers, the thread will stay active until he gets one. Then the only people that post in these threads are people who don't give a rat's arse on what you actually do or the statistical differences in the classes. So the thread eventually dies, and instead of bumping the thread up half a page(or less) the kid makes a new thread with only one question which will again spark one answer and wait until the mini trolls get it.

Come on, guys just use one existing thread to get your questions answered. If you don't want to make a much broader thread that can actually spark some conversation then atleast use Chaosmaster00's PHD thread. Your questions WILL be answered there in FULL. Anyway, hate the source not the result.^.^

I know that RAcasts are very weak but im using one atm.
Ranger are my favourite Class in Phantasy Star so i wanna play one.
It doesnt matter whether its strong or not.
The only thing that really matters is thats its fun playing him.

This is a problem that's nearly as old as gaming itself. You often find people who want a simple answer of "what's the best?" when the answer in games such as RPGs, are never that simple.

Sometimes the person asking just doesn't understand that there isn't a best, or that things can be situational, but sometimes they really are determined in believing that there is a single best "pick" for everything.

Sometimes providing a detailed explanation can help them, other times you'll get ignored and instead receive the response "but what's the best."

Answering these types of questions isn't always easy, but sometimes it's worth a shot and you might just enlighten someone.

This totally is dependent upon your view of "Better"

You could be applying better as:

- Most fun
- Fastest at running most missions
- Strongest
- Most versatile
etc

For example, I really dislike Fighmaster because it's the least versatile class and I find it incredibly boring to use.

Fighmaster's lack of versatility is what makes me not like it. I'm sure the speed boost is great and all, but I prefer Fortefighter's larger selection of weapons. That being said, it's incredibly childish how many people still give me shit sometimes because I'm not a Fighmaster. Really? Grow up. I can do what I want.

No there is NOT always a best class...there is NEVER a best class. BEST depends on a variety of things, one thing could be best for someone and worst for someone else.

Well there are some sides to this argument. Realistically, some games do have really bad balance and sometimes there really is an ultimate best choice. Then there are other games where one class might be best in a particular aspect of the game, or worse. Sometimes there is balance against the other classes, sometimes not.

And i know there are some sides, im talking about psz in this case, though and the balance is really good (untill a FO reaches level 80 at which point it becomes an unstoppable killing machine. but getting there is slow and painful)

Liking a class or enjoying a class has nothing to do with whether it's good or bad. I don't care if you REALLY LIKE this class, if it sucks, it sucks. No matter how much you wish they were every class in ANY game is not equal. The 'playstyle' of a class has absolutely nothing to do with how good it is.

I don't even know what game we're talking about, but I really liked FOnewm back when I played PSO but FOnewearl was a million times better than it was. I still played it because I liked it but that in no way shape or form made my class 'equal' to the other, and I was disadvantaged for playing it. Some people don't like disadvantages and they want to play the best class. Get over it!

The best class argument thing is kind of broad. You'd have to be more specific to say a best class. For example, saying something like "Out of the Hunters, which one has the best ATP?" which I believe is HUcast. Asking for a best class in the game is kind of stupid, as it'd be very biased, and be highly situational.
