how do I switch a 60GB Xbox 360 pro from 480p to 1080p?

do I need the red/yellow/white cables plugged before I do it?

With Component Cables (Red/Blue/Green, and then Red/White for audio out, methinks. I forget) you should be able to do 1080i, but I think you're gonna need an HDMI Cable for 1080p.

I don't think there's even a spot on the Pro for an HDMI cable. is there?

oh ok. sorry i see so many 360s these days without hard drives its hard tell them apart. your going to have to go with component for hd then. the difference between component and hdmi isnt that much really

Composite cables (yellow video, red and white audio) only support standard definition. If you want a high definition display, you'll need a component cable (red/green/blue video cables, red/white audio cables) or HDMI cable (if your 360 supports it - depending on the manufacturing date and which model you got, your 360 may not have an HDMI port at all) and a compatible display.

And yes, you need the proper cables attached before you set it manually - because otherwise, you wouldn't be able to see what you were doing.

I have the 250GB 360 (black one) and it was a little weird hooking up the HDMI cable because it's directly right next to the power supply cable meaning you kinda gotta jam it in there. I can tell the difference so it works, but there should be an easier way.
