Phantasy's Advocates
Jul 3, 2011, 07:10 PM
Greetings, PSO-World community! We, Phantasy's Advocates, would like to present ourselves to you, to reach out to anyone who wants. Already at the official forums, we will reintroduce ourselves here. Thank you!

We at Phantasy's Advocates would like to spread the goodwill and camaraderie fostered in the Phantasy Star Universe community to the newer members of PSU, so that they can learn and enjoy PSU thoroughly with good people and friends.

ad-vo-cate: verb to speak or write in the favor of.

Wait, what? Who are you advocating? I'm confused.
We like to think we are helping act on the behalf of the PSU community to appeal to each other and the spirit of togetherness and fun gaming.

Sounds good, but how can you help me?
We aim to help new players and the experienced alike reach their goals by teaching how to be able to stand on your own feet and by encouraging participation in teamwork.

If you are new to the game, we can explain how PSU works, and give advice on how to level and obtain equipment. We do not give free handouts, though. Our hope is to help you learn how to function in groups and solo missions.

Suppose I already know how PSU works and I am comfortable in my favorite class. Why should I be interested?
Good point. The Advocates can help you by teaching and assisting you with GAM and higher-level hunts.

Okay, so it seems that I can benefit from your services. How do you accomplish this, though?
Phantasy's Advocates tailor to your reasonable needs. We appoint Instructors as the go-to people for advice and questions (expect a list of the current Instructors later this post). Certain Instructors are knowledgeable in their field of instruction, and are willing to answer your questions with a smile.

We divide our assistance to three main divisions:
-Leveling and beginner assistance.
Here, you can expect our team to help you level your character and class, and to recommend suitable equipment and tips on your class.
-GAM support.
For this, we aim to help prepare to various GAM stages based on your class (don't feel pressured to stay one class!) by recommending equipment setups and coordinating teams available to run.
-General knowledge and support.
Lastly, if you don't want or need the aforementioned help, the Advocates still welcome players with any questions, goodwill, or those who simply want a friendly group of people to run with!

Our Instructors also are willing to dispense with any advice ranging from bot feeding, to shop-searching, to synthesis tips, to fashion opinions!

Wow! Sign me up!
Thank you for considering Phantasy's Advocates! If you would like to join, please respond in this thread telling us a little about yourself, your character(s), and your goals. We also expect you to adhere to SEGA's Code of Conduct, and ours:

1: First and foremost, be friendly and civil to all fellow guild members and non-members. We strive to be a readily available family-friendly guild for the entire community.
2: If you have an issue with someone in the guild, please handle it in private, or privately ask an Instructor to intervene should you feel necessary.
3: Do not cause or perpetuate drama. We want issues to be solved maturely without impacting the peace or harmony of the rest of the guild and community.
4: Play nicely and offer cookies to your fellow guild members if you have any.

If you do not adhere to these rules, the Instructors of the Advocates reserve the right to revoke your membership and no longer sponsor you.

Alternatively, if you cannot or wish not to contact us through the forums, please send an Xbox Live message to one of the Instructors' gamertags with the aforementioned information. We will have a list following this post of current members and updated frequently.

Anything else we should know?
Yes, we want to emphasize preparation for teamwork. That is, we will help you and encourage the more experienced players to act like a big brother/sister. (^_^)b

We will also plan to hold public meetings alternating Saturdays. Details will be announced and updated accordingly.

Also, one more note: We at Phantasy's Advocates believe in equality, and our Instructors are always open to learning new things and suggestions from other players. Please feel free to comment on this thread with any suggestions!

Cool! Now... just between you and me, how do I obtain a higher rank?
Phantasy's Advocates do not believe in strict hierarchy. We merely designate the Instructors to help make this system more efficient and as contact points in the guild. If, however, you demonstrate excellent kindness and/or knowledge, you might be asked to contribute!

No ranking? Lame.
Sorry. However, you can choose a frivolous style name to place on your online status that carries no connotation or illusion of power. ("Advocate Vanguard" is acceptable, for instance. So is "Advocate Fashionista.")

Instructors (Listed by their main character's name with their permission)
Vinitrex Ephionza (Leveling Instructor and General Knowledge and Support Instructor)
GT: PsychDragoonX
Expertise: TECH knowledge, Force type class knowledge (with emphasis on Fortetecher and Acrotecher)
Known in another time and place as Vinitrex Valether, he has experienced Gurhal since early 2007 on the PS2/PC servers until their demise. Formerly a sagacious Fortetecher, he has since retired from that and has taken up a liking to the arts of the Acrotecher. To befit his versatility in the mysterious mechanics of magic and his interests acquainting himself with the elements and the people of the universe alike, Vinitrex observes in the corner with such a presence that you simply can't ignore. Do not mistake this with a distant coldness, for he will always greet you with a smile and invite you for refreshments in his -An Ocean of Stars- bar and grill. As a founding member of Phantasy's Advocates, he speaks eloquently and articulates honestly.

Marco (GAM Instructor)
GT: Xavier673
Expertise: GAM Equipment, Mission Strategy, Team-Play Strategist
A member of the PSU community since August 2010, Marco is a friend to all. He believes that games are more enjoyable when everyone is working together, and loves to encourage team work. Included in his impressive resumé is the founding of the highly successful demo guild Black Market Inc. and a founding Instructor of Phantasy's Advocates. He is dedicated to PSU with such unbridled energy and eagerness, his charitable and friendly personality has inspired the members of the UPPA to recognize him as a respectable person. Rumor has it that he likes being called "the good egg...."

Jooji (GAM Instructor and General Knowledge and Support Instructor)
GT: HecticHooligan
Expertise: Financial management, Market theory, General Hunter type class knowledge, and General Ranger type class knowledge
As the British Ambassador to Gurhal for 2 years, Jooji is known as "The English Guy" to his friends and SEED-infected foes. This lad's broad base of knowledge exemplifies his beliefs that knowledge is power. In love with his fiancée and his young son, he claims responsibility for background high-pitched screaming. Jooji has made his Queen proud as he helped found Phantasy's Advocates with their name.

Kairii (General Support Instructor)
GT: UnSoughtWings
Expertise: Organizational and administrative matters, Public relations
The self proclaimed 'gamerchick,' Kairii's personality fits the description quite nicely. Her conviviality and pleasant demeanor earned her the role of PR and community outreach, where her ideal balance of extroversion and quietness diffuse even the harshest of arguments. As one of the founding Instructors and a PSU player for 2 years, Kairii can share her general knowledge of PSU, suggest developmental courses, and reference. Such a lovely and strong young woman, she is engaged to Jooji, and loves him and their young son while having some energy to play PSU!

Aftermath (General Knowledge and Support Instructor)
GT: WizardlyOgre
Expertise: TECH knowledge, Force type class knowledge (with specialty in Masterforce)
Originally from the PC/PS2 server, Aftermath has been around since late 2006 until he migrated to the 360 servers after the server shutdown in March of 2010. His sharp wit would suggest he specializes in blades, but his passion lies with the magical workings of the Masterforce. He welcomes apprentice mages, bestowing his knowledge to anyone.

Dibando (Leveling Instructor and GAM Instructor)
GT: Dibando
Expertise: Item hunting, Item upgrading, GAM strategy, and Masterforce class knowledge
Out of the Instructors, Dibando is the one whose passions blaze more spectacularly than a Masterforce's Damfoie. Making his humble beginnings only in the middle of Absolute Zero, he has taken Gurhal by the horns and powered his way to maximized level and upgrades. He is evidence of people who adapt quickly, and excel stellarly. But don't let his inexperience fool you, for his formidable knowledge in the ways of Masterforce can leave you stunned. Or burned. Or frozen.

Ruski (Leveling Instructor and General Support Instructor)
Gt: Ruski4503
Expertise: General hunter-type and ranger-type class knowledge, item upgrades and hunts
Going on 1 year of PSU addiction, Ruski (otherwise know as Blue Goblin) is someone that has gotten to where he is by making many mistakes. He understands the frustration a new player may have in trying to figure out how things work and not knowing what to do.("how is he doing 2k damage while i hit all these zeros?!?!?") For players that are serious about improving their gameplay (not simply looking for a handout) Ruski is more than happy to lend a hand in answering questions to help you adapt quickly and avoid repeating the mistakes he's made. He can also prove to be an invaluable meat shield. Reviewing rumors realize rampant reputations reward renaming Ruski "Risky."
