I played the PC ver of the game until Sega closed the servers. Since they started talking about PSO2, I have craved to play PSU again so I picked up an Xbox.
I have been playing for just over a month now, I have a lvl 102 - 20 acrotecher. I cannot belive the BS the xbox has compared to when I played the PC ver. I get kicked from random games nightly for the smallest stuff and I was never once kicked from a game on the pc.
I get kicked from not using a mic all the time... this just blows my mind, this game is about blowing &*&% up as fast as you can why do you need a mic there is no strategy reqiured for this game at all. Why do people have such a hard on for the mic ?
I picked up a 11 star mat and they guy says don't pick up junk and kicks me... no comment placed about picking up junk mats... plus 11 star is not junk
Just this evening, I was in a game and this masterforce was casting a high level nosdiga over and over again. After a couple of rounds I was like please can you use another spell as your just making huge lag for everyone eles, one of the other members also said something right after I did and the guy just kicks me. I never use that spell in a game huge lag for everyone.
I'm not trying to sound like a whiner, I think I'm just very surspised by the community here on the xbox. Hopefully everyone can just play and have fun.
/end rant.

That's Xbox for you.
I've never honestly played on it because just by the looks of when my brother played it, the community did not seem so appealing.

This should be on the RANTS (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21) section then.

If you've been playing for a month, you don't have too much to lose... Seriously, get to the JP servers. Community is much easier to live with, it's true that the language barrier is not too appealing but as you've been playing for long on the old PC servers you should know the menus and options just by reflex.
The only issue with language will be item stuff, like getting the names properly and writting them in the shops but thankfully we have pages like Amesani PSU where you can find all names translated to the japanese writting, and you just need to put your computer to allow japanese keyboard imput.
You won't find too many "friendly" japanese people (as in people who will talk with you spontaneously) and probably not too many that will talk to you in english, but there's good people and there's also the importer community. About getting kicked and things like that, I've never been kicked from a random party, the worst thing thart you might find is probably that if they don't like you, they'll give an excuse and leave the party (after the run is complete).
That goes, of course, without saying that the server is much better in terms of updates and content, if you have a good computer for it and no regular friends there, you shouldn't even consider the 360.

The community has a few inconsiderate people in it. Like someone who complained we were wasting time when our masterforce was buffing us... And the guy who joined our party and complained about us picking up 7* items... And when I say a few I mean about a quarter of the community.

I've met a good number of people who are just playing to have fun. And no definitely not most of it, because most of it is afk spamming/gacha scamming

That doesn't fall under "inconsiderate"? Son, that is the definition of inconsiderate.

fair play, although i meant being inconsiderate in mission, which is what the OP is ranting about. But yes they are inconsiderate, and it's said that a lv57 has a full blacklist already

probably shouldnt trust stuff like that...
Anyways, I play with random teams every night, and rarely have any issues. I've only been kicked a few times, and its been months since its happened.

As much as we "hate" the community, they're keeping the servers online with their subscriptions. We couldn't say that for PC, unfortunately. So love 'em or hate 'em, they serve a purpose at least.

Here are some things you need to learn to do on 360. If you follow these you will be fine.
-Follow what the party leader says, if you join a random party. Most of the time it is in the party comment.
-Never buy rare missions.
-Never spin a gatcha
-Only do big trades with well known people. (like most forum users)
-Find a group of people to play with regularly.
Nine times out of ten you will be just fine, if you follow the list. I'm sure others can add more to the list.

Again, I must be the ONLY person in the game who can find parties who are nice. I rarely have trouble in universe 1/2 with getting kicked from parties. Apart from AFK spammers which doesn't bother me too much...you're going to have a small portion of idiots who kick for no reason but it's definitely not the majority of players.
Join JP where it's a different language and some of them despise you just because you're not Japanese (can speak Japanese).

Yes, agreed.
I don't know wtf is up with so many people getting kicked..very rare imo.
I ran with randoms mostly the last two days and had a fine experience.

Never pay for rare missions. Ever. It's not worth it.

I wouldn't know about random parties nowadays, seeing as I don't play with randoms anymore, period. Haven't since before Absolute Zero. Never will again. I see no point to; I have some friends. However, if none of them are on, I just kind of sit around. Or solo if I'm desperate.
To add to Midori's little list of tips:
-Don't be a dick. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. I know it sounds cliche, but it works (most times). Even if you don't particularly like someone, at least be civil towards them.

Same. I guess some people don't have that extra sense to stay away from certain players/parties or know how to get on a leader's nerves somehow.

I think in my case, it's just the fact that I seem to be an extremely hate-able person. There's a lot of people that seem to not want anything to do with me and/or just plain ol' not like me, even though I've never said a word to them.
Apparently, random players get that vibe, too. I don't really get what it is about me, but it's whatever I suppose.

I feel for you man, it's always tough at the beginning when joining a new community. (even PSOW) My advice would be to make some friends, or join a group if your into guilds and stuff. Get to know some people that aren't whining little kids.
I've got some contacts whether you choose to except it or not, it's not big deal;

Agreed.. I been running with randoms all week and only got kicked once because the party leader wanted everyone in the party to have 3* luck.. which he/she believed it made the drop rate for boss boxes better... lmao
other than that I have had a good time playing with randoms.. must of been something the op did to piss off the party leader..

My advice would be to just make your own party. I don't play this game anymore so I don't know what missions are popular or whatever, but I know if you go to say....seabed and join someone (if its still unpopular) your chances of getting booted are gonna be higher than if you join someone at white beast (once again assuming that wb is still popular tho). I myself didn't come across this too often when I did play, but the times it did happen I remember and I know how frustrating it can be.

If I get booted from a party, I shrug it off and find a new party to join. Keep getting booted, then I'll just make my own party. Not that big a deal, really. It happens every now and then for me, but it doesn't particularly bother me. I just kinda wonder why they made an open party if they're just going to kick whoever joins.

like the people that have an npc and their partner machine with them and just kick all other players. better idea: put a password on the party, it gets your message across to more ppl, and no one thinks ur a dick

I get kicked from parties on the 360 all the time for no real reason.
The workaround?
I join a new party. If things don't work well, I make my own party with my own rules in the comment box. The population is more than good enough that I get a full party between 20-40 minutes.
