Hey everyone. I have a question about the NPCs that can join your party.

Well, to get right to the point, I'm not the greatest of PSU players in the world. I'm about level 87 playing as a Newman Fortetcher. I wanted to play in the guardian boost road, but I find it's a bit tough for me to go it alone. So I recruited Lou and Tylor and started a game. I find that the NPCs help draw some attacks off me, and for an NPC Tylor isn't that bad. His damage output helps and Lou sometimes uses an SUV.

A few other players joined up with me, and I had no problem with that. It was nice to get some human help. After 4 humans joined, I removed Lou from the party in case another human wanted to join.

Everything seemed to be going well. We were fighting through the areas, one of the humans had left so we still had 2 open party spaces, and I supported as best I could. Now my buffs are not fantastic - they are all leveled in the teens - but I used what I had to try and help the team out.

After we finish a mission and collect the item boxes, one person that was with us suddenly shouted "Who's the noob that brought a computer in? Your buffs are garbabe. Your resta is garbage. Hahaha." And then promptly left the party.

Is there a problem with bringing an NPC along? I always figured that if I started the party, and people were joining me, it would be fine for me to bring an NPC along if I wanted one. And if the party had filled up, I would have removed him like I did Lou to make room for more people. We never got to a point where I had to remove Tylor. Is there something else going on here though? Does having an NPC have a deragotory affect on the boost percentage or something? Is there some hidden harm to having one that I'm not aware of? Now to be fair, only one person made a fuss about it and another person in the party called that guy a "cry baby" after he left. But I'm still wondering if NPCs do some harm that I'm not aware of.

Thanks in advance.

No. People bring in bot shields all of the time and I've never seen anyone complain about it. From all of your negative experiences I've read so far, I would say you have terrible luck, or worse, judgement in party selection.

You just bumped into an idiot. Nothing too uncommon, and something you easily move on from.

The person who said that you were a "noob" sounds like the "noob" to me. I don't see any problem with bringing an NPC along.

I got ya. All in all my experiences on PSU haven't been too bad. The occasional hostile player pops up but I suppose that's just how it goes. For a moment I thought that the NPC might have been having a negative impact on the percentage boost or something. Anyways, thanks for the quick answers.

On a side note, if anyone would like to help me run the GBR, I should be on tonight. I'd welcome the company.

There's nothing wrong with bringing NPC in. Ignore the trolls. Some people just need to make others feel bad to feel better about themselves.

On another note, the best NPC for offense are Magashi and Tylor (when they aren't stuck on stupid). The best NPC for healing is Maya (if she survives). The best all around NPC are Ethan and Bruce (they heal fairly frequently, they have a decent amount of hit points and they attack for a decent amount of damage).

Other "okay" NPC are Curtz (he's a bit like Bruce, but less power and heals for less), Hyuga (he tries to reverser your megistaride, but so does Maya, so I'm not going to hold that against him), Leo (doesn't heal often, but it's good when he Nanoblasts... if he can survive that long), Tonnio (like Leo, good for nanoblasts, but tends to die easily as well).

The human NPC, Bruce, Ethan, Hyuga, No Vol, are generally your best bet in terms of you not having to babysit them. They have enough HP to take a few good hits unlike the Neuman NPC. The exceptions are Lumia who is pretty useless, and Orson Waber, he's wouldn't be bad, but protranser 1 is a handicap anyway you look at it. Another good thing about Human NPC is that they mostly do not get one shot killed by Megid.

The Neuman NPC are decent. Maya being the most useful of the bunch. Karen is okay except in the one story mission you have to babysit her, but you don't have a choice there. Hiru Vol is pretty useless about the same level as Lumia, but less annoying IMO.

The Beast NPC are good a soaking up damage if you have resta. Tylor, as you already know. Do Vol, Leo, Tonnio, and Laia are all decent. Linna is pretty much a less useful version of Tonnio, so there's no real reason to select her over Tonnio. She isn't bad, but she isn't good enough to rely on. If you just want a change of pace NPC or are running an easy mission, she might be your choice.

Cast NPC are a mixed bag (excluding your PM of course). Magashi is a better Tylor. Curtz is a worse Bruce. Nav is a better Do Vol. Lou is a like a second PM, not bad, not good.

Anyway, my point is, there's nothing wrong with NPCs. If people had a real problem with your NPC, they wouldn't have joined your group (people can see if you have a NPC in your party before they join you).

No there is nothing wrong with bringing a PM in. I will bring my PM in if I know a friend wants to join but cannot join from the start. The only 'negative' is that a PM and / or other partner character will limit your party's maximum boost. You just found one of the many idiots, lol.

During the GAR, while running VM S3, nobody in the party was talking. We get to the Boss teleport, and one of the other players uses a Megistaride. I was playing Wartecher, and so I buffed everyone. As I am buffing, the player who used the Megistaride said to me 'Don't buff over my Megistaride you f-ing f@ggot!" After I finished buffing, I equipped my Stun / Resist and switched to my Bow to use against the Boss. When he saw my Bow, he then said 'Oh and your Tengoh Bow sucks!".

I had been muted, up to that point, and unmuted my Mic. I told him my buffs were better than his Megistaride and that my Bow was a 10/10 Plasma Bow (strongest A rank Bow) NOT a Tengoh Bow. He then so "Ohhh, a Plasma Bow" As we are teleporting into the Boss fight, he continues to throw insults my way. I called him an idiot and he responds with "You mad, bro?" I told him "No, why should I be mad. I know something you don't." He says "Yea, and what is that?" I said "I am friends with the party leader"

Needless to say, the idiot was removed from the party, lol. The only reason the leader didn't remove him earlier is because he didn't have his headset plugged in, so he could not hear all of the guy's trash talking. He was probably just mad that as a Female Newman I was outdamaging him, lol. I eventually found him again and blacklisted him. At least I won't have to deal with him again. All you can really do is blacklist idiots like that and move on...

I will answer this a bit differently.
I agree that there is nothing at all wrong with bots hell I always bring my pm when soloing or if we decide to lock the party.

Another thing I find myself doing is using an NPC to reserve a spot for a mate that will be joining in the near future. This way I dont have to lock the party if running with randoms. My friend will just mail saying hey I'm here, then I set a temporary lock remove the bot and done.

In regards to GBR's though, yes a bot does hurt your boost percent. Because if another "human" joined they would probably have some percent and NPC's cannot gain percents for running loops in a GBR like a "human" does.

So yes a six person team is boosted GBR-wise (assuming they all have at least completed one loop) better than a four "Human" + 2 NPC party. Follow?

Anyhow sorry I didn't join you for a few loops after your invite last night. I had prior plans with some of my team mates. Some randoms joined in as well but you were not a high enough level.

When I say FIGHT ON! man I really mean,,,,seriously...go fight on! gain some levels so we can hunt goodies (s3 goodies) together even if I already made plans.

Other than GBR's we almost always run in a four person squad, so there is plenty of room to add you once you level just a bit.

Stay cool Cran.

Nothing wrong with them, although there are some missions I that I believe they get in the way. (solo)

Hey Skyly. Sure if you get on, we can do some runs together.

Yesterday was great. I joined up with Black Velvet and Ragolian Hunter A.K.A. Spawn for quite a few loops through the Guardian Boost Road and we had a blast. We did at least 3 loops of the road - probably a few more. We played for at least a couple hours, which for me is a long time. A few other players popped in and out during it. Thanks to all who joined! I even gained a level, which has been all to rare for me these days. It was great fun, even if Velvet and Spawn did go out of their way to make me blush.

Later that night I went back on to grab my casino coins and when I stopped by my room to change clothes, I saw that Aeris had left 2 boxes on the floor. When I opened them, I screamed "Great scott!" so loud my family knocked on the door to ask if I was okay. Yeah I'm fine - just staring at my screen in disbelief. I really don't feel I deserve the items that were left, but I do appreciate it and it will help me in this game tremendously. When I messaged Aeris to say thank you I found out that Aeris is leaving PSU and left items to friends that could use them. While I still don't feel deserving of such an elaborate departure gift, I'll definitely put them to good use.

Should be no issue with npc's, my friends use them all the time and we get no complaints.
As for your buffs, just ignore the idiots, unless they have something better, they should just be thankful for it. I know how well you can play as a force, I'm sure there was no reason for any complaints outside of someone being an idiot..

Npc's are great I use them as distractions when I play alone. I play at weird hours due to my work schedule.
