Got to a part in Persona where everybody was wearing Afros. It was unexplained why. But everyone got to NPC be named "Pink-afro wearing guy" "Red afro wearing girl."

With working digital, it's resolution x layers. If you have experience with traditional painting, you should be able to paint in one single layer. That way your computer should be able to handle such resolution (hell, my 6 year old laptop could run such res with tons of layers).

Anyway, I always start my paintings with a max width or height of 2500 pixels. That's actually plenty to make a nice painting if you don't care about zooming in.

I researched it, my paintings were all about 36x48 inches(3x4ft) thats about 10800x14450 @ 300dpi. I use 1 layer for scribble, 1 layer for sketching, 1 layer for line or structure then 1 for base and 1 for paint it'd be killing my PC alot quicker :/ Mainly because i like alot of open space to do my random bullshit i do in my arts.

Intuos 5 Medium. Its a huge step in quality vs the Bamboo fun i had 3 years ago.

I still have the Intuos 3 A4. I think it's 6 years old by now and still working like a beast. I've been using the same pen tip for more then 3 years. The only reason I am considering to upgrade to the 5 series is the aspect ratio that is more widescreen.

Intuos grade tablets are a great investment! :D

That happens to me from time to time, but just shutting down Photoshop and opening it again seems to resolve that.

Then again, I always assumed that had something to do with the crappy 64-bit support in Photoshop Elements, so you might be experiencing something different than I am.

Sayara, do you use all them fancy artist markers and pens? It's been a while since I've worked in non-digital mediums aside from just pencil sketches, but I was in the local art store recently and had the urge to pick up some supplies and mess around. What are you using in the case of these recent two market pieces?

These are the tools that I use for my arts:
.5mm HB Mechanic pencil (none of those special 6B->6H stuff)
I switch between Faber Castell Artist pens (mainly the brush) and ballpoint pens
Prismacolor Twinsided Markers
Prismacolor standard grade color pencils
Sakura something Artist oil pastel (i use them on occassion)
Gamel oil paints

On the following surfaces
Drawing pads (probably Strathmore)
Sketchpads from Canon or Strathmore or some school brand it doesn't matter long as its left to right turning pages and isn't too cheap.

Intuos 5 Medium when it decides to work.
Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, FlashCS5 (If i ever teach myself), SAI

Did you try a different drawing method with this one or something? Your other drawings look really cartoony but this doodle looks super skilled, I like it. Do more like this. Not that your other drawings are bad, this one just looks more serious. 8-)

I think its the factor of I went over the lines twice. Its a sharper pencil apperance, something i don't do as often. But the technique in itself is still the same.

Makes sense. I'm no artist, so pardon my ignorance. :-P It really is strange to me how some of us are naturally artistic and others excel at more technical aspects. I need to take some art classes.

Its all a matter of practice honestly. I've been working on pencils and doodling for almost 18 years so i've been around the bush. Some people have a easier time understanding things sure, but at the same token anyone can teach themselves observational skills, penmenship and the like.

Not that art blocks really exist. They are just mind games you need to overcome.

The worst thing for any artist is probably the white canvas. How do you ever get into drawing again, if you are staring at a white canvas? How can the big empty whiteness inspire you? well.. it can't.. :wacko:

So here are some pro-tips from someone who hasn't had art blocks for quite some time:
- If you don't know what to draw, start with drawing from life (or just stock photo's, whatever). You might be getting inspired along the way and it also sharpens your skills.
- Don't start on a white canvas. Really. The first thing I usually do is painting the background one color and start making strokes. Along the way of paining I simply get inspired and I whoop out a background in no time.
- Cool down your mind. After a day of work my head is full of thoughts. You can dumb them down by doing stuff like breathing exercises. Works pretty good

You both should check qoxs' thread for the PS/artjam thinger. The challange is to emulate those old style limited color pallete this was a not so serious attempt at it AND not using paint also. (I used a square pencil brush in photoshop to do this)

That aside, that is a very cool use of art medium. I've always kinda looked at all the default brushes in Photoshop and thought "You know, I bet all the stuff in my makeup cabinet would make for a really cool art medium, what with the different thicknesses and textures and colors of everything plus all the different application brushes you could use..." so it's awesome to see people make use of everyday things like that. Nice work sir.

When i asked others for styles for me to interprete with my girl Tingle (http://sayara.tumblr.com/post/36260187403/ill-draw-your-style)
Mr Rock Eastwood asked me to do one with ASTROBOY.

and thus.
I took some liberties…giving gle a more robotic hair likeness and gave her Uranium’s skirt thing. Which in the 60s was totally acceptable. Did my best to imitiate the font as well using the amazing paintbrush tool in photoshop haha.

Looks like a crazy adventure. i never liked the look of university studios. They look so empty and lifeless. I don't even know how some people get glaze on pipes and other places near or around the roof.

They can be lifeless if you just sit their solemnly, by the level arts im in people get up, walk around go out to smoke and stuff so its always active.

Pop n' Music was probably one of the only music games I never really got into. There's music games, and then there's absolutely hyper games. Pop n' Music requires me to have some sort of substance to be that hyper to master it. Like Yukari Tanizaki, or Tomo Takino hyper.

Yeah. I understand it like many Bemani games (of which I played a lot), just that it was a while since I could throw around that same energy level in my arms in doing that. I'm a pretty fast-capable keyboard player, but even the fastest stuff is more finger dexterity than overall whole arm and hand dexterity.

Yeah, pro players often guide me to using my fingers more than my palms.

I wish i listened as i stare at my 10 broken finger nails and bruised palms ;_;

It should blow up and cover her face in white goo, that turns into face eating goo, then it merges with her face and she runs through the front door and eats her families faces. Then the cops bust down the door and gun her down.

Then they inspect her body and she bites at one of their necks which she does to control his body and shoot at the other cops.

Then she vomits blood and bullets and stumbles into the woods and collapses and gets covered in snow.

Then another kid playing in the woods finds her the same way she found the original crystal ball headed demon.
