FF14 was beautiful up until open beta....where everything fell apart.

People wonder whats taking Guild Wars 2 so long to release. I for one respect the fact they are polishing their game before releasing it to the public even for a beta.

I kinda like how the drops have more specific graphics, but I'll miss the classic item box look.:S

FFXIV suffered from bad design, even now they just don't get it even after trying to fix the game. They had a pretty damn good formula that worked with FFXI so how they went so horribly wrong is beyond me.

I get to play GW2 at PAX Prime ^_^ so happy.

the male casts all look like min gundams. I was hopping for a design like from the original PSO or ZERO, but come on. I know I wont get the human like options that i got from PSU, but I hope there will be more options for this race in the final game.

Unfortunately I also think Casts are too much Gundam-like now. Though I'll play HUcaseal so I don't really mind.

You guys say that like it's a bad thing, lol. I'd actually PREFER being able to make a badass-looking Gundam-like Cast like this:

The option is great, of course. I think some people are just upset that they can't get the same options they got in PSU, PSO, and even the original series. However, with the fleshy races looking more armored, maybe we'll get to see those options with them. I personally kinda like additional diversification.

I liked that in PSU you were actually an android...

Of course after AOI, ALL the new parts just looked like Giant Robo ripoffs...

And not just a mini gundamn...

I'm sure people like the annoying mini gundamn look, but diversity and customization is nice too.

Hopefully when they add more parts this won't be a problem. Or if they don't add more parts I won't be playing a CAST. *shrug*

Androids are so... retro. Sakai's vision: rock-em-sock-em micro-mobile-suits. Unless of course you're female, then you are fleshlight killing machine with giant floatation device.

In japan's quest to become as fanservicy and "unique" as possible, they've lost everything about them that made me love them.

I hate the new mechazoids. I can't tell any of them apart from any of them anymore. If there's a machine in an anime, you can probably guess how it's going to look and be correct.

... So, the obvious fan service to PSO's RAmars, who were big, bulky "mecha" style robots is a bad thing?

I'm also 99.99999999999% certain there's going to be a lot more parts to choose from in the final game, including less bulky parts. They might even get all "fan servicey" and include some parts that rather resemble the old PSO HUcast...

I mean, it's cool to have your own tastes and whatnot. I was never much for the RAmar's look even though I grew up on Macross and love the Valkyries. Always preferred the HUcast's more android look, although I liked that he was still definitely metal and robot, not being a human look-a-like. I just don't get getting all judgmental (about an entire nation/culture, no less) and acting like people who like the bulky mecha look are somehow less sophisticated or something.
