Did Sega shut down the servers? Not that I even know how to make a Guardian's License anyway but I was curious if I would be able to play online.

Local PC/PS2 Servers were shut down due to neglect from SoA and a dead player base because of it. JP PC and the Xbox 360 servers are still up and running.

Also in during "just join JP." Seriously, local servers are being neglected more than ever now, while JP is sitting nice and pretty 2 1/2 years ahead on content that will never be seen on the 360.

Hmmm, thank you all for the helpful replies. I'm not sure it is worth the trouble setting up for the JP PSU unless it still has a great playerbase. Do you find switching your computer's language a hassle?

I'm debating... I could be content with just offline, but I do like people around... except JP people won't understand me lol... if I pay I hope I'd make friends quick.

A very long time. The Next event will be Sep22-Nov2 And even if they where to shut down after they would give you like 3 months in advance. They will up for a long time still.

Why is the japanese version free????

There are two different licenses, the free one is called free course. You can pretty much explore the whole game in there, you can take part in every mission and events. Unfortunately you have no own room (no storage, no pm, no synth). Therefore you pretty much aren't able to grind anything. You cannot trade between players, so you have to rely on dropped weps and line shields or buy them fron the NPC. You cannot run rares (however you can get them) and you are not able to aquire Guardians Cash.

So all in all, the free course is good for everyone that wants to get in the game and try it out, especially if you can manage the language barrier.

Premium course, where you can use everything as it should be is 1.000 Yen.

1000Yen or 13USD since Yen is worth more then USD now.
