I know 360 will almost certainly never see the Upgrade device.

However, outside of special whips like Silver Cranial and the dark A rank HP whip, I would assume that a 40% Vishic/C would be the most powerful whip in the game due to its 20% boost to Photon arts?

Would the same apply to the Hikec/C as well? a 40% one of those would be the most powerful slicer with its 20% boost to Photon arts?

If I'm wrong, please let me know. Thanks ^^

Yes. Unless a kamade-hiken/cranial drops with 41-50% element.

I'm curious, boring math time again

Hypothesis: A 40%+ 10/10 Blitzgazer can beat a 40% 10/10 Hikec/C

Assuming the following:

Maxed ATP with GAS (+150 ATP)
LKK equipped (+360 ATP)
Shijin/Ouryu equipped (+150 ATP)
Full Custom Power Lv2 (+46 on Kamade, +130 on Blitzgazer)
Revenge Blaster as weapon style (Therefore same impact on both weapons)

Total ATP bonus so far, minus FCP = 660, so letting character ATP be cATP:

cATP + 660 + 751 + 130 > 1.2 x (cATP + 660 + 290 + 58)

Adding constants:

cATP + 1541 > 1.2cATP + 1209.6

Moving variables to one side and constants to the other:

1541 - 1209.6> 1.2cATP - cATP

Solving:

331.4 > 0.2cATP
cATP < 1657

So a character with 1657 base ATP or less, not including GAS upgrades, will do more damage with a 10/10 40% Blitzgazer than with a 10/10 40% Hikec/C. At level 180, only a female Newman AF fits this bill =(

But wait, there's more! Blitzgazers can exceed 40%. Taking a Male Beast AF's ATP and letting E be the Elemental %,

(2146 + 1541) x (156.5 + E) / 196.5 > (1.2 x 2146) + 1209.6

Simplifying

E > 45.21

So a 46% 10/10 Blitzgazer will beat a 40% 10/10 Hikec/C on all possible AF combinations.

I don't think any of the 360 whips can beat a 10/10 Vishic/C though, except maybe a 50% Bloody Shower on a Female Newman AT.

I don't think you included the variable of additional percentage with the AP ability "Enhanced or High Enhanced Weapon" that applies to A-rank weapons. This should apply to the Hikec/C.

Isn't Revenge Blaster hitting 360 this week or something though? It should affect both weapons equally and give better damage than Elemental Arms and (High) Enhanced Weapon I think

Yea, it came out with the recent update. I just figured you were calculating raw damage without such a vastly evened variable. If you think about it, revenge blaster is equivalent to adding the atp on both weapons to an equal value number simitaneously opposed to seeing which has a stronger potential. It would be the same as not adding RB at all. I.E- 50 is less than 100, with RB is 500 less than 1000. Either way, the variance would still be 50%.

That's exactly why I didn't include Revenge Blaster into the calculations =p I could have accounted for Shifta, PA modifier etc and the result would still be the same. I should have made clear at the start that I was assuming that player would be running with Revenge Blaster and not the other weapon styles though.
