I was playing around with some slicers with my RAmarl when I noticed in town that I was healing more HP with my Tri Magenta than my Trois Souther. I thought it was Celeb... Did some math using the resta formula on the JP wiki. No useful numbers came up. The Damage Formulas on the JP wiki is more of a close approximation of what the RNG will spit out on the field and is missing some things.
Then I figured it out. The difference was the grind level. In town, weapon MST is removed from the equation and all RNG junk from the field is gone.
So I got my base healing score then tested it with other weapons. Bought a Deo Slicer to grind and yeah...
Base: 212 (affected by base stats, slot units, possibly set bonuses)
Trois Souther+20: 233
Tri Magenta+25: 239
Pretty Parasol+60: 276
Deo Slicer+0: 212
===: GL+0
+1: 213
+2: 214
+3: 215
+4: 216
+5: 217
+6: 218
+7: 219
+8: 220
+9: 221
+10: 222
+11: 223
===: GL+1
+12: 225
+13: 226
+14: 227
+15: 228
+16: 229
+17: 230
+18: 231
+19: 232
+20: 233
+21: 234
+22: 235
+23: 236
===: GL+2
+24: 238
+25: 239
+26: 240
etc
I cut off since I can guess what will happen at 36, and the item doesn't get to 48.
So the formula is basically:
Town Recovery = Base Resta Heal + Grind Level + (Grind Level / 12)
The Pretty Parasol gives +60+5 to base at max grind, which fits the formula above.
I have a couple of questions now...
Where does grind level and the RNG fall into the equation?
Resta Heal = (Character MST * Shifta Bonus + Weapon MST + Mag MST + Armor Unit MST + Set Bonus) * Class Bonus * Spell Power

(translated with help from Damage Formula guide)
I'm also certain that it applies to weapons as well, but due to the RNG fudging any attempts at guessing as well as unknown enemy defenses (minor issue, formula is within 10 points of damage and I can possibly get both DFP and ATP by working the formula backwards based on damage delt), I can't tell.

kk, got an answer.
