You are prohibited from altering your PSO2 Alpha Test 2 footage where you use other videos and music or change the playback speed.
However you may modify the footage to obscure your player names and ID and append the notice as previously mentioned.
If you are live streaming, it is recommended you get consent from other players featured in that footage before you start streaming.


Image Guidelines:

You must write （C）SEGA in all of your screenshots that you release to the public.
In addition if you are posting images on a site, please write something like, “These screenshots are from “Phantasy Star Online 2 Alpha Test 2″, since this game is currently under development, the contents may not reflect the final version. Additionally, such contents may be improved upon in the future. Phantasy Star Online 2 Official Site http://pso2.jp”
You can crop and resize your images, as well as photo manipulate them to censor the names of your character and player ID names.
If you use the in-game screenshot feature it will automatically append Sega’s copyright text for you. In fact, please use the in-game screenshot feature because there is a function that lets you remove your name/id and interface from your screenshots.


Other:

When other player character names, player ID names, and chat logs are displayed in your screenshot/movie, you can either obscure them before you show it to the public or get the other player’s permission.

The paranoia is only really justified if you're being rude, mean, inconsiderate, or not following any of the listed guidelines. But at that point, it wouldn't matter if you were a foreigner or not.

Wow, just recorded the intro movie and the menu of the client using fraps and it looks amazing (60 fps) but it's un-registered so it last only 30 secs, no sound, and it's 1GB!

I figured out my computer isn't good enough to stream. I tried streaming League of Legends and my FPS goes from 200 to 40 when xsplit is on.

So, I will just record every second possible.

For those of you who want to record, easy you can download this free program called MSI Afterburner which can take care of that for you. The video recording feature of the program is 10x better than fraps. No FPS drop, variable encoding, etc.

So yeah I'm SURE I'm not getting into this thing at this point, and I pretty much hate and envy every single one of you and I hope you all inconspicuously get run over by buses coincidentally somehow. But I'm gonna have to ask someone to try out two things for me.

Lot's of footage (Lot's as in longer than 8 seconds) of Barehanded fighting, and confirmation that we don't have to hold those sextoys called force weapons to cast TECHs.

Yeah, I use fraps and don't get any lag really. I like the option to record commentary as well.:) The MSI(?) thing, however, is still a great video recorder. I tried that out too- but it has a ton of features I don't want. I think they should release a stand-alone screen-capture thing. My only problem with it was that it wasn't capturing my audio. Probably because I'm on an HDTV as a monitor or something on my desktop. Fraps captures the audio, however.

True enough, but it does look a hell of a lot better if you don't set to it to such a big resolution. I'm sure they'll release a true HD version later on regardless. I hooked it up to my TV and it looked awful.

Companies nowadays barely touch 1080p. They usually almost always cap around 720p which is a bit annoying really but I learned to deal with it. But Kazzi is right, I put it at 720p windowed and it looks beautiful while in full screen it look good but a bit blurry at times. Havent tried it on my tv screen yet but on my tv/monitor it was a bit noticable.

I died a few times my first few missions. Was unfamiliar with it all, things still 1-2 shot me as a force. Depends on the player I'd imagine.

omg this game is effing epic! the boss battles have so much challenge with them! I love it. Not like PSO Dragon boss where you kill it within 30sec-1 min at level 10 haha. Amazing. There's some nice cohesion betwen teammates here. Rangers lay down consistent fire on the dragon, while the Hunter takes out the smaller enemies and pesters the dragon up close to provoke it into melee attacks rather than ranged.

My favorite part: after the dragon dies and COMPLETE appears, a little word box with "Yay!" appears from the guy squished under the dragon. Priceless.

1st: I'd like to see Male Cast customization. Preferable with all the RAcast pieces but I don't mind if someone wants to switch it up.

2nd: This is more so for one of my friends, but can I see male Newman customization? They've always liked Newmans, and they want to see something specific. It's the undergarments; do they have a full body glove-esque outfit that covers the majority of the body?

Every video without it so far has been taken down(at least, on Youtube. They will take it down as soon as the holder files a complaint. SoJ is directly filing complaints on there). Check the initial post by Cayenne.

And now it seems cristfc more recently lost it even with the Sega(c) because they put in their logo too.

No one can be sure exactly why they're being taken down- maybe it's because they're non-JP, maybe it's the whole "Do not edit" thing for the user logo with the sega(c).

All I know is that I'm pretty darn mad, because this simple mistake has costed me the ability to post my Let's Play videos on my new youtube account. I get the 15 minute limit back on ALL my videos, and a copyright strike I can't do anything about. I thought about filing a claim, but it's almost certain that Youtube won't listen since they would rather burn users as soon as a company even brushes a remark about copyright.

The way they act, you'd think I'd claimed I CREATED PSO2. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth, that's for sure. I'm not going to stop uploading though. I have an account that's extra and a watermark up for the whole freaking video. Either that or I'm using Vimeo.

If you find it worth the risk to post on your youtube account you use for other things, go for it. If you even get 1 offense, Youtube strips you of uploading videos longer than 15 minutes in length and your account goes into "not good standing". I hear it clears up in 6 months with no infringements, but other people have reported that sometimes even this does not work.

I am guessing any non-JP video may be at risk. No clue, however. I recommend not tagging the videos. Uploading a gameplay video now that's about 10 minutes. I just don't care at this point.:P Going unlisted mode.

Once you get your charge bar to level 3, you can almost instantly charge to the hurricane launch attack, which is waayyyyy more efficient.

Hey all, It's been a while since I logged in, since 2009 actually lol. Anyways, I have been playing the alpha as well, and I posted a cave run from yesterday. I will make some more videos and post them here as well. Running the game maxed out at 1080p. Fraps was lagging a bit towards the end because I was taking screen shots as well. Besides that the game runs perfectly fine even running at 120hz refresh.

Sorry but when I hear, "don't try 1080p" it sounds more like a suggestion to everyone else than just a note. Sorry, I just don't want people to think that this game is bugged at 1080p, because it isn't, you should have stated you just meant the video processing on youtube.

That had to be like the 4th Rockbear we fought in that area. I remember that one specifically because it's the one i where i realized i could do upwards 700+ damage to his weakspot with a charged Foie.


And yeah, the air support surprised the hell out of me the first time it happened. It actually happened once before earlier while you were in the party, but i guess you missed it.



Bandicam captures amazingly, but the filesizes are an issue, i guess. I got a 10-minute 720p video with it, and it was about 2.4 GBs. But you can use compression and cut that down alot.

This game....they've really been using their imagination, haven't they? It's the little subtle gameplay touches like that which made PSO such an amazing game to me.

Hey Zaix, I also posted 22 min of Fonewm gameplay. I plan on doing alot more videos the next 2 alpha server up days. If anyone wants to make any suggestions as to what they want in a video, I will try to see what I can do. There must be some kind of skill that makes the Mirage move have less recovery time. Yours seems to recover way faster than mine.

Although, thankfully both are still slower than running.

As far as I could tell in the skill tree there was only the Mirage dodge skill and the skill to the right lets you bounce back quickly from being knocked down (I'd have to read the description again, pretty sure that's what it said though). Nothing available to make the dodge itself faster.

I tackle a good half of it using Unarmed combat. Just for kicks.

Hey I just noticed, on the very end of your video you type /la greet, and your character waves her arm. Is that like a new emote or something? And if so, is there more? Cause so far I've only seen the old ones from PSU on the trailers and gameplay footages.
Haven't seen any other video's doing what you did, so thought I'd ask you.

P.S: Love the unarmed combat. Just wish that it would be more useful in battle.

Well, all the emotes seem to be straightly ported from PSU, verbatim.


You have 3 ways of accessing them. You can use the menu near the chat box, which puts the text into the chat box for you. Or you can manually type in the command to do them (like "/la greet" or "/la dance1" or "/la sit1"). Either way, it uses the chat box, so it doesn't really matter. What I didn't know at this point though is that you can do it the PSO way, and just press ALT + a key. I didn't get to see if they included things like death animations and attack animations with the ALT + Key commands, but you CAN execute them during a mission, unlike PSU.



And yeah, unarmed combat is amazingly (though not surprisingly) ineffective in combat, lol. And that character was a Female Newman Force, so if this game follows the stat trend i should technically have the weakest ATP stat of any race/sex/class combination, hence me not getting over like 12 damage.


But the interesting thing is how unarmed combat actually has multiple functions. Unlike PSO, where you just have a combo, you have a combo, a dodge, and a "photon art" (which is really just a hard punch). I can imagine at higher levels, running through a stage and destroying enemies with your fists will be a blast.





And nobody knows yet, but you MAY even be able to obtain differing PA Combos for unarmed combat. Which would be awesome as hell.

And I absolutely love unarmed combat, in game and in real life, so I wish I'm going to have some real use for unarmed combat in the game, and if not, I'll just play around with it then! Either one is fine, but I wouldn't mind if they did it like in PSU with the knuckle weapons. Only thing is that I don't want them to look like they did there, but rather just put some extra stuff on the characters fists and legs as the weapon, but let them still look they're "unarmed". With PAs and all of course.

I have a pretty good feeling about this game for once, but we'll see.

The game looks boring when you're in TPS view all the time. I switch it up while playing. TPS is good for attacking, regular is good for moving around, and Lock-on looks pretty dynamic sometimes.

Needs to have a slow start up, and then just WHAM! the enemy. It's the only way for it to be balanced, is if it takes a while to get that one hit off. And it can't be more than one hit.

I also have to say: I was highly skeptical of the HUnewm default outfit when the cut-out sides were revealed. However, after using it in-game, I have to say I actually rather like the armor.
