View Full Version : Special Items for Alpha Participation?

I noticed there's a special item that beta participants will receive if they level a character to 10. They will receive it during the open beta, and it can then be carried over to the full game (as data will transfer from the open beta to the full game).

Did the alpha test offer similar promotions? I'm kinda nutty about that kinda stuff.

(Fortunately, they say this item CAN be acquired by people who don't participate as well. You just get one free for participating. WHEW ^^; )

The only thing they have said related to this is that alpha players who got a character to level 10 automatically qualify for closed beta.

I get this feeling as well with online games, haha.

Anyways, like Dinosaur said- level 10 in Alpha gets you beta access. No items were mentioned as I recall. So this beta item should be the first "bonus" item available, as it were. Cool to know that this is happening. I personally hope it's clothes or something not easily replaced.:)

It's a room item, namely a weapon hologram. You can put many in your room, so this one they give you isn't necessarily special, but a bonus. Considering how much I hate timed exclusives (that go extinct if you don't "do X" or "buy Y") this is very nice of SEGA, in my opinion.

Hopefully they won't snub me like they did the Samurai and Dragons beta.

Apparently there are some special items if you buy computer parts in Japan.

I don't read Japanese but that 4/19 date seems a little particular...

Yeah, it's an expensive promotion.

Yeah. Buy a PC, PC + mouse, Win7 Ultimate DSP version, or an Intel processor and get a few special items. Woohoo. Most expensive in-game items ever.

There's also a Dell/Alienware promo but I forget what weapon it comes with. It's got the /Nahato suffix though so it's probably got the same low stats these items will have too.

...what weapon class is that hammer?

Im guessing it's a Rod...but it would be pso-level awesome if it was a Sword Type.

I wonder if they'll plan a PC/parts promotion outside of JP, that would be neat.

Can't blame you, I want some sort of gauntlet weapon. That punches throught stuff and get a PP consuming rocket punch ranged attack that you have to switch to TPS mode to aim it but it wont have the range of a gun.

Still butthurt that they made FIST SHAPED weapons...

That weren't actually fist weapons...

That deception almost makes me think there won't be actual punching weapons... Hoping I'm wrong. >3>

Considering the rarity of a knuckle in PSO. I also wanna think if they gonna mess with the players like the same way the God hand was in the first PSO game, your unarmed combat weapon mostly being gained by an event, a quest or by clearing the challenge mode (Oh I wish challenge mode exists in PSO2 too for more coop gameplay)

They do have unarmed combat, but still doesn't mean much if it's just fighting naked. I actually want to be able to make progress/be useful when I'm uppercutting a dragon's head like I always did in PSU-PSP2. D:

You remind me of how useless that function was that the only time I found it real funny was that professional PSO Japanese video where the LPer dare himself clearing The whole Episode 1 in Ultimate Mode using a HUmar and by doing nothing more than punching, use TECHs (Which aint great as HUmar), and DONT MOVE! use the HUmar unarmed animations to move (which I still say he defeated falz by mere luck with being unable to dodge megids), and no items too neither looting (that some precious rares shown up too) and he jumped over with heavy attack if he lapped over. You can probably still find that video around Nico Nico Douga xD
