Can someone confirm or deny this?

My specs are:

Windows XP Professional
Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.40GHz
2 GB ram
GeForce 8700M GT

..I assumed it would at least run poorly :'(

I have WinXP "Media Edition" a duo core 1.86 + 1.86, 2 GB RAM, and a GeForce 8600GT and the Character Creator runs fine for me. I only get 10-15fps if i have Shaders on "high"

What happens when you try to install it? Any errors?

We have a thread going about this over here (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193920).

I'm assuming this is the error it's giving. Do you know if you're running Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3?

Yeah, I'm in that thread as well. This one was intended just as a general question regarding whether or not the CC would even run in XP.

I have not had the time to get home and look over the installer but I think if its using a MSI installer then I can edit it in Orca to remove the OS Check.

If you do this, somehow enable others to benefit from your kind work? It would be appreciated.

I will attempt to do it tonight, I didn't have time over the weekend to even look at my PC.
I did have just enough time to download the installer and played with it for a few minuets Friday night.
I will run it through Orca and see what I get.

I looked it over and I will have to try to tear the exe apart, its not using the windows installer per se'. tearing it apart and re-compiling it may break the program entirely.

Note: I have been very ill for the past week or so and have been coming home from work (where I am now) and going home, showering, going straight to bed, sleeping 12 hours and going back to work.

I will attempt to give you all a better idea of what is going on with this tonight and try to get the screenshots of my benchmark on the other thread that I was in too.

Sorry for nothing better.

Also make sure you have all ran these in order to ensure that your version of XP is the right version.

Service Pack 1: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=19751
Service Pack 2: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28
Service Pack 3: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24

Just an update, I was not able to crack the installer, They are pulling the majority of the data from the .bin file.

After throwing the Windows SDK at it I am still not able to rip the installer apart. So alas we are going to have to trouble shoot each system as they pop up. I know for a fact that the CC will run on XP but I am an update whore and have all the updates installed. Just make sure to install the updates I mentioned earlier in the thread and make sure to check out update.microsoft.com after installing them too.

And to this, I go to bed..... Need rest.
