Allow me the honor of firing the opening shot. First thing I notice? The graphics in game aren't as good as in the creator. Hardly a surprise, but still jarring to actually see.

Already jealous of all of you. My PC can't handle the client T_T missed out on the beta anyways but still..... Hopefully I can somehow scrounge up the funds to get a new Desktop by the time it comes out (or shortly after) so I don't fall behind.

Can some of you that chose Force post some screens/videos of technique use? I have been waiting and waiting for decent tech info, but it just hasn't come yet. So... Fix that... Please.

I am not sure what techs are present in the beta but I am particularly interested in the Grants line of techs, and any that have a residual battle animation after casting (not buffs) like Gifoie (I believe someone data-mined something about a Barta related one that had a similar effect... not sure though). Also, any information on how long that residual battle animation lasts would be greatly appreciated as well.

I want to make a Battle Force/Paladin type character and I think the techs that keep on damaging after you cast them would be great for that, assuming they last long enough to get a few good melee hits in. That would have been the PERFECT way to balance Wartechers and Guntechers in PSU; just add in some techs that last about 5-10 seconds when cast, thus allowing for simultaneous tech and melee/range damage.

Definitely not the first thing I noticed. Good lord those boobs stand out when you're crouched. I'm really glad to see some new action shots!

I'm still getting the hang of taking pictures. I play with a 360 gamepad (which is heavenly), but as such, it's difficult to hit PrntScrn (nevermind Shift+PrntScrn) in the middle of a fight. For every picture I post, there's ten in my screenshots folder that I've deemed unworthy of posting. Considering how bad the ones I do post are, well, that should say something.

Couldn't you turn off blur when you want to take pictures? You probably can't do it mid mission, but if you know a place you can get good pictures, you can make a day out of it.

Hm. Are you not standing pigeontoe'd when you stand as a female? They modeled a standing animation just for the character creation, and don't use it in game? I'd give them respect points for that, if it didn't make it more difficult to make a character because of that.

That loli looks awesome with that launcher, Tickler. Always have one of those in your pictures.

Well, vids are always huge issue because they are called HD but arnt HD at all. Most are that heavely compressed that it actually burns the eyes...

For a 1 min vid of max quality including MJPG compression (without lack of detail), it takes like 2-3 GB.

At max quality a computer need to be pretty powerful for PSO2. They got areas where the amount of details truly is very huge and the quality is outstanding. It does leech my PC to the max... and even the 6950 is not overpowered... It all depends on the settings but PSO2 is one of the best looking Sega games for sure and it does beat any previous title of that series by far.

I could try to upload a short 10 sec video (to youtube), thats all my 0.5 Mbit upload speed can handle... maybe i can break those super HQ vid into many parts and 10 sec each. 10 sec is like 600 MB at true HD + HQ. But first im gonna check how much compression it could handle without losing quality.. probably not much, some of those areas are insane, for example that one, those pictures are shrinked down to 45%, else i have to search for a external host and im to dumb to find a good one. ;)

A 6950 got 50-90 FPS in average, however, at 100% load! I still get ocassionally juddery framerates at graphics like that:

Sadly, my more up to date PC is out of order atm, few problems within my graphics setup and such, and the random shutting down is really annoying, so I'm on a much older PC. I had to put the detail settings right down in order to play. But hey, at least it works. =)

Some more to say about super HQ vids: I mean, in order to create a 600 MB vid in 10 secs (2-4 GB a min), have to pull roughly 60-120 MB a sec to the HDD... well not HDD, most HDDs cant handle that without slowing down the system so heavy that the video would be nothing but junk. SSD is only way to drop such huge data in a short burst without destroying the videos smoothness. I made some tests and using a M4 it works, but a usual HDD would not handle it. Anyway, highest issue is still the net. I have yet to see such a vid on the net, they apparently doesnt exist, and my eyes are bleeding because ingame it looks so much better. Of course H264 can give highest quality/size ratio but the true quality in every spot (moving pictures) is better at MJPG, thats why it actually makes sense to use.

it is not only a halberd, it has ability to lengthen itself when attack too. I think it pretty cool.

Watch it with the spoilers. I don't want to know the story before playing the game myself. At least give warning if you're going to post them.
and that is why I put spoiler-box after the picture which introduce "story chapter name" Normally I don't put spoiler box to pictures less resolution than 1024x wide.

Based on what I'm seeing in the vids I can find... They changed the forest's normal and battle BGM from the alpha 2.... Why? I loved those songs, it was stuck in my head. AND NOW YOUR TELLING ME ITS GONE FROM THE FINAL PRODUCT?!

AND THEY CHANGED THE EMERGENCY CODE VOICE!? D: It's like the blazblue CT to CS announcer all over again!

When I figure out which of these buttons lets me buy a character slot, I'll make a force. So far, I've spent 200 AC on random stuff and I'm not even sure what I've gotten for my trouble.

Interesting so far, I like a lot of the weapons myself as well. A single edged blade? And a two-hander? I'm really praying Partizans don't edge out swords though, that would just be a shame.

Partisans are different weapon behaviour. A sword got biggest range of all (fighter) weapons and can hit more than 3 at once. A partisan can maybe hit 2 or 3 but not more than that, its advantage is to be stronger than sword but lesser range. A buster... single handed blade, in theory got highest single damage but its range it terrible (a Katana could be a buster type weapon, insane single damage but bad range). There is no "uber weapon" as long as Sega made a good job on balancing. They all got advantage and disadvantage... as long as Sega knows theyr job. ATP itself doesnt tell how much "DPS" a weapon got, the attack speed is playing a huge role, and as faster as harder to cancel it. There was some powerful knuckle attacks on PSU, they was incredible powerful but so dirty slow that it was the harderst stuff to use, by far... While a sword is slower than a partisan, it still may have same ATP.

The perfect player have to learn using all the weapons at the right moment without even wasting a single thought. The weapon switch can be done in a single second in PSO2, its a important and critical action in order to get the most out of it.

Just remember: In PSU force was hard to play and fighter was easy. In PSO2 a fighter ist much harder to play and force got lot easyer (at least its the stuff been told, i didnt try out force yet but i will check em out the last 3 days of beta)... ranger stayed same, they always had a spot in the middle of all difficultys which remains unchanged.

So. Urban Recovery showed tonight, as I'm sure many of you know. As a level 9, I figured, what the hell, the enemy levels in the original PSO didn't mean diddly. Maybe it's the same deal here.So, in I went, solo, to give a shot.

Turns out, quite a bit of it is public space, and that's probably for the best.

I beat on that thing for twelve minutes straight and I still got beat by the timer. I don't know how much HP it had, but it was doing things a little differently, like summoning adds and using a new attack so I guess I must have at least crossed a significant threshold.

Oh, free tip, if you haven't done it yet? When it crawls up on the wall, go as far in the opposite direction as you can manage. That landing will **** you right up.

I had a hell of a time gaining access to Volcano. But, I'm finally there and I'm taking a break to reward myself with food.

While going through Forest Exploration, a Dark Ragne showed up. In like, the most horrible place possible. It was like fighting in a closet. And as if that wasn't bad enough, after we killed it, damn thing got right back up, slapped a "Hollow" in its name and kept on trucking. Still, at least it dropped me a spear to tek into an ice element.

I have found an even better way of Dark Ragne mid-mission spawn. Probably post video soon. I wonder if anybody saw the same event?

Basically, I was separate from party to get some item boxes but then an black rift appeared and it came to cover my body.

The next thing I knew was that it warp me to in front of my party that wass fighting mob in another place. But apparently, I was cage in a nest-like area. It announced "Code : Rescue" Then, while we were trying to break the nest out. Dark Ragne appeared and announce in gold color for another event "Code : Duel"!! (while I m still being caged too!!)

20 level grinding from 2 stages isn't nearly as bad as 200 level from 4 stages or 8 stages.

If you expect new stages every 5 level, then MMO won't suit you.

Pretty easy fight. Just bait it into lunging at you, go around the side and unload. If you notice my mate count though, you can see I made some mistakes. It has what I'm going to call an enrage where it's much better at responding after lunging and I ate some damage trying to figure that out.

PROTIP: WATCH WHAT CRAP YOU SELL FROM YOUR BOSS DROPS!

We've killed alot of Katadorans, Vol Dragons and a Dark Ragne on our quests. Sometimes they drop items that are rare, sometimes they drop regular items.

CHECK your regular items. Some of them drop with a special "Soul" ability, like "Vol Soul" or "Ragne Soul", with attribute bonuses like the Vol Soul which gives +20 HP and +30 S-ATK. Ragne Soul gives +20HP and +30 T-ATK (which probably will make a difference when sub-classes show up, because ive gotten it swords and partisans.) These boosts are massive, almost like base grind of like +6 on your weapon or more. (I have a +3 grinded weapon, it's only 10 S-ATK stronger than a non-grinded weapon.)

The only issue is, they don't seem to be able to be transferred through current means right now, which means they may be drop-only abilities. But keep an eye out anyway, as they can easily turn a crappy weapon into one of the best in your inventory!

little things like this is why i loved PSO. I didn't really see anything special with the Soul Abilities (like random fire atttack or something), but maybe in the future they will have some more active perks on them instead of only really good passive boosts!

So that was how it look on an English patch? the translation seem pretty accurate even though the game only been released for just a few days. I wonder if they worked it ahead during the data mining days or not.

I met a new JP friend during the first days emergency mission. He was pretty cool, and speak English all the time at first that I didn't know he actually is a JP until he told me so.

The first time I did the mission for Zeno's CO and went back to talk to him, he had something over his head. I think I might have completed the task, but need to find the Wired Over to progress. However, my Matterboard hasn't changed. Below are what my Matterboard and Zeno's dialogue screen look like. I'm pretty sure I'm still in the Zeno's CO phase...am I?

Nope, you dropped it. Active Client Orders have a blue notepad in the circle next to the name, Orders that are ready to turn in have a green notepad, as well as a green Client Order notification above the character's head, and completed Orders have a crown.

Just have to say, the motion blur was the best graphical addition ive seen so far. It makes all the fast jerky animations look silky smooth.

The best effects of it are definitely seen in bigger enemies though, ESPECIALLY fast moving ones like Katadorian, Dark Ragne and Dragon. They were already animated very well, but they just look REALLY organic in their movements now.

The AI improvements are so impressive. I love how bosses are able to be spawned in multiple groups, and how they dont seem to be restricted to set terrain. They deal with heights and distances accordingly with no bugs.

it seem to be SEGA intention that they added a lot of Dark Ragne onto many people who were running forest mission at around that yesterday JP late night time. Because Today that I have tries a lot of the same mission and never found Dark Ragne again. It probably become very rare now that SEGA not control over it?

Anyway here is the video of situation I found yesterday:

Story :
I was separated from party to get some item boxes but then an black rift appeared and it came to cover my body... The next thing I knew was that it warp me to in front of my party that were fighting mob in another location. But apparently, I was caged in a nest-like area. It announced "Code : Rescue" Then, while we were trying to break the nest out. Dark Ragne appeared and announce in gold color for another event "Code : Duel"!! (while I m still being caged too!!)

At near end, Dark Ragne was jump into the upper rock just to take off the two ranger who were shooting him from there. It was pretty epic, we didn't expect this size of boss capable to do that. And rangers thought they were in safe spot.

20 level grinding from 2 stages isn't nearly as bad as 200 level from 4 stages or 8 stages.

If you expect new stages every 5 level, then MMO won't suit you.

I dont expect that at all. I expect access to all the stages at once like pso. If i beat one stage I want the next. I dont wanna do like fucking 50 quest on the damn forest.

I did now fix my windowed and UI issues, how its done is in signature. This mode is almost critical because when the screen doesnt fully cover the desktop its always interfering with the desktop and calculating a non native frame size which is causing performance problems in many situations. So the performance will go up (i already noticed), and the size is now corrected. Another good stuff which seems to be fixed yet is that the GPU wont anymore be leeching at 100% all the time, no matter its framerate. Because generating over 100 FPS doesnt only cause a high system and GPU strain (therefore lot of noise) but its totaly a waste and it does make the GPU less responsive for when a power up is needed. The framerate will now be set at about 70-80 FPS which is perfect and about 50% GPU load in average. Dunno if its same for Geforce GPUs, but those should be perfectly adusted already by the Sega "meant to be played" hug.

Unfortunately the full screen issues for non windowed mode still remains. I dont know how to fix it.

Still dont know how to disable UI, someone can tell?!

2. Cash shop devices can boost your mag at lower levels at a very fast rate(one device for a level 1 MAG will provide 5 levels).

3. Ability. It has to do with damage.

For the skill tree, I've been focusing on the Step oriented branch. You can always get more attack power, but you can't buy better mobility, is my thinking. I unlocked a skill that lets Leah come out the end of a Step with an attack. She smacks the enemy with her heel. It's most amusing.

Just had the BEST mission ever. I got sucked into limbo and warped inside this prison, which in turn initiated an Emergency Code: Rescue for my teammates. I basically had to fight a slew of enemies until my teammates came to break me free from the diabolical cage. They had to run halfway across the map just to get to where I was trapped.

I've gotten that Code Rescue too. I haven't been the one abducted yet, but I have seen it happen. Best part is, it happened while we were already fighting a Dark Ragne, so we had to hoof it over to the "funji" with that hellbeast on our tail.

Just had the BEST mission ever. I got sucked into limbo and warped inside this prison, which in turn initiated an Emergency Code: Rescue for my teammates. I basically had to fight a slew of enemies until my teammates came to break me free from the diabolical cage. They had to run halfway across the map just to get to where I was trapped.

After WAY more effort than necessary, I have made an outfit I am willing to keep forever. Which I'll likely have to considering there is no way to restock AC and I'm almost out. REALLLLLLLLY hope they evaluate the clothing options and choices in the full version, and REAAAAAALLY hope they don't make us pay for all the ones I'll love :(... The fashion is definitely one of my issues with PSO2, they hit the nail on the head in PSU, WHYYYY would they change that to something completely different? Not saying this is HORRIBLE, but not nearly as expansive and delicious as the choices in PSU...

That, and that there isn't a "Turn" control like all other PS games have, kinda irk me. This one requires either mouse or gamepad to play, I miss being able to just use a keyboard and be fine :(

(PLUS I'M LEFT HANDED AND CAN'T SET MOVEMENT TO THE ARROW KEYS. HNNNGH.)

Change Over Codes can be really sadistic... two bosses back-to-back in what is often times an extremely cramped location, is not exactly fun for the whole family.

I'll try to get more stage and party footage between now and the end of beta; at the very least, I'd like to get the Emergency Urban District mission. Also, a small side project, but once I get Sazonde and Rafoie I'd like to make a video specifically about techs and card usage.

Decided to start using Buhnessa tonight. The character creator must have been "inside" lighting (as evident by the 4th pic), as she is nowhere near as dark as I imagined when outside. Definitely gonna need to take a trip to Estee tomorrow after work.

I've compiled my screenshots into my Photobucket album , but the way PB handles the images and squeezes them down doesn't do my screenshots any justice.

And I find that the normal screenshot function for PSO is unable to output a high quality screenshot either....I think I may as well use FRAPS to screenshot. :(

Also...idk if this can be translate but what does this say? This was on the screens all over the Ark for quite a long time since the server went down. I thought it was the emergency attack but remember when that happen every screen has a big red "Danger!" on it.

Did delete old screenshots because i changed the way how its displayed. Thats a test.

The first shot from my male cast hunter. ;) Kinda cool having such a hunter, but shaped like a Racast and surely very solid armor plate,... not easy to crunch him.
When he got a Katana and then makes a slash... with his japanese voice... sounds scary.

Unfortunately i loaded the backup with char creator, and that tool of junk is created in a way that it will delete any beta-created files as soon as you load it up! So i lost my save and even forgot to back it up because i never had in mind that it would delete my old file. So i have to create new... a warning to everyone not to load stuff using CC without having a second backup.

About the beta chars, not sure if theyr model can actually be taken over to open beta and full game, thats up to Sega. All item related stuff surely will be wiped out, but maybe the char data configuration might be restorable.

The most difficult stuff is to create a color which isnt fully black but kind of a anoded color which will reveal a second color when light is bright... stuff like that is not easy to implement in the way its intended. Black itself is not a color, its a light condition. While there is still a color when the black level is rised up at bright environment. And then the secondary color from the main plate should not have the same color such as the eyes, because of a contrast, it would not be special to have so many parts with same color. Either its done good or bad, doing good is not as easy as some do expect.
