Renaming your character.

Hi, I got my copy of PSO this Friday. And today i realised that i really wanna change my sectionid. So i'm wondering if it's anyway to change your sectionid without starting over? Ok, i'm only level 20, but still i don't wanna start over. I could even consider using gameshark if it allows me to change my sectionid, since i don't consider this cheating. More something like saving time.

Unfortunately, there's no way to rename your character or change his Section ID...the best thing you can do is play in someone else's game online that has the section ID you want. As for the GameShark thing...well...good luck finding codes. Pretty rare from what I've read.

Also, please note that it's really not all that hard to get to lvl 20...I've done it about 10 times now, so I'd know. ::grins:: Now if only I could keep a character longer than level 32...

Oh, i know it's not that hard to get to level 20. That's why i don't consider using gameshark for this cheating. The thing is that it takes time, and time is something i lack right now.

Xploder codes also work on the Game shark with this game. My lazy buddy uses it all the time.

Is there a code to let you change your section id? Cause i don't wanna start over and then use gameshark or whatever to get back up to the same level i was now..

nope.. your section id is determined by your name. theres a faq on how to add up the letters in your name to equal the section id you want..

what you could do is create a new character with a modified name to get the id you want, and use gameshark to slow level yourself up to the same level you were at before. then leave the game on overnight or something to get it to the same amount of hours you had before, and have someone online transfer your first characters weapons and items to your new character

You could maybe try to send the pso sys file to your computer (try) to edit it, put it on a web site and download it to ur vmu

Yeah i was thinking about editing the save file. Unfourtunally it seems to be encrypted. My name isn't even in there in normal hex.
