can i back up my character b4 i go online?

If FSOD happens frequently (or BSOD for that matter), I don't know If I really want to go online anymore. What do you guys think? Also, I saw that if you join a team online it could also corrupt your data. Is that true as well?

It can be done, but would take a USB memory uploader, and you would lose all your items if you loaded the backup due to timestamps.

This whole entire FSOD and FSODX ( I think that is what it was called ) makes me affraid to go Online. I just got this game a couple of weeks ago, I got the modem a couple of days ago and I plan on giving the Online thing a try when the datel releases it's keyboard however spare time is somthing that I don't exactlt have alot of and I am scared to death of having my all my Hucasels data getting corrupted. Does FSODX curupt all of the charcters on your memory card or does it only corrupt the charcater that you went online with? If it is the latter than I may create a new character exclusively for Online play and twink him so that he can keep up with all of you guys who have been playing this game for months, if it is the former than I probaly won't go Online at all.

when its happened, you start from point 0 again (for this memorycard).
then, if you are careful, you can avoid FSOD when changing ships - dont try to burst into full ships, dont move your controlstick while you are about to change servers (i dont mean while the loading screen but while you still can move around your character after). be careful with the 'meet user option'.
when you enter a game, never do that from lobby 1, since fsod can happen when you want to leave said game (especially for c-mode).
when a FSOD happens you will lose any stuff on you, that you havent had equipped when you saved last. so be wise and dont carry any unequipped items that you can not easily restock.

the memcard-corrupting FSODx is as far as i know very rare these days, if not fixed. dont move your chara when you enter a game and it saves the second time. dont move your chara while you save online at all. thats what you can do. nothing else.
