i like to add a small guide how to make your weapon even more powerful.
there are 2 methods i currently know so ill explain both of them.

1: improving by using monogrinders (or just grinders)
-use the elevator in town to go to the second floor and take the stairs up there till u find a purple cabin with the item tekker (identifier) on the left. and lab attendant on the right. your gonna need this guy for the job.

-if your unsure if you got grinders then here is a picture of how the item looks like:

-every upgrade cost 1 grinder and you can upgrade your weapon to a max of +10. the higher you get the bigger the chance u fail which as far i know will only cost you your grinder and money. the first option of the lab attendant lets u upgrade trough grinders.

2: Improving trough special ability.
first you gonna need to find a weapon or armor with a special ability on it. for example lets say i want to get higher ranged attack power on my gun which has no special ability's yet. (it doesnt matter if it already had special ability's either cause it will overwrite them)

your wanna look for a 'junk' item with as special ability Shooting I
then at the lab attendant, click the third option. then click your main weapon. then the junk item that u want the special ability transfered over from. this junk item will be destroyed after the process.
adding something of rank I has a 100% success rate so dont worry.

but.. u can even further improve the rank of shooting I if u like.
all you need is another junk weapon with shooting I on it and use that to make your main weapon Shooting II with 60% success chance. (if u fail your weapon will get the special ability removed.)
and ofcourse if u want Shooting II to become Shooting III, u need another junk item but with this time Shooting II on it. doing this only has 30% success chance.

Nice guide so far. This should help quite a few people out. Also to note: There are client orders from "Jean" that involve grinding a weapon to complete (basically a tutorial).

Someone should do a guide for getting and feeding a mag. I'm almost lvl 20 and didn't know how to get a mag. The thread I did see for mags didn't tell you how to get them.

Nice little guide! Grinding seems much less unforgiving than in PSU!

all you need is another junk weapon with shooting I on it and use that to make your main weapon Shooting II with 60% success chance. (if u fail your weapon will get the special ability removed.)

About that, I'm wondering: do you mean that, say in the example above, you would end up NOT adding Shooting II while retaining Shooting I or does your already-upgraded-with-Shooting I weapon now no longer has anything to it after the failed attempt at upgrading it with Shooting II? If the latter is the case, it would get progressively harder to go from Something n to Something n+1 if you end up having to start from scratch every time. Dedication and luck - not skill - is key here. Though I guess all MMOs, F2P or not, are bound to have those. @_@

Still, it's not like it's trashing your weapon so... I guess it ain't TOO bad!

i believe it will get rid of all ability's on your weapon regardless of the rank if u fail but im not exactly sure about that.

its also posible that failing with grinders have a chance of putting you back -1 but again, not entirely sure. im waiting for someone who can confirm these things so i can edit the guide :) (if necessary, but looks like not yet. thanks for confirming menochi)

You'd have no ability on it if it failed. Each skill has their own chance of success or failure, and you can possibly get up to 8 skills on a single weapon (or 12, though there aren't enough unique skills yet to max it out), but the more skills you try to add, the higher quality you try to add, the lower your chances of success.

Each one has a chance of success at least, but you could also have all of the skills fail and end up with a weapon with no abilities.

For reference, there are also skills that are limited/unique and cannot be transferred. Any attempts at adding additional skills to weapons with these unique skills will lose those skills permanently.

if it fails it remove the ability of the weapon (I failed once). Anyone know where we can find support items (which increase success of improving special ability) ?

its worth noting, that you need to use weapons with the same amount of special ability
if you have 4 special ability you need another weapon with 4 also, it seems ;-;

@nuja, alenoir is right they in the scratch
