Please Help: Game locks up on tutorial mission every time

I searched a bit for this and posted it in the info thread and no one has responded yet.

I can't get past the tutorial mission.
Whenever the instructor comes on to talk, it's a crap shoot if I'm actually going to get back control of the game or if the whole client will lock up on me.

The farthest I've gotten so far is where she tells you how to jump.
The game just locks up and never responds again.

The freeze ALWAYS happens after the instructor is finished talking and the game is about to return control of your character.

I"ve made it as far as the jump twice. A few times it locked up on my at the first set of destination arrows.

I'm using dual Radeon 6850s.

Please... any help would be appreciated. I've tried this at least a dozen times now to no avail.

Try skipping the "tutorial" part. When you actually get into the forest choose the bottom option.

skipping it worked for me, as it locked up at the end when I did the tutorial

Didn't even realize it was an option to turn that off.
Wish I would have take Japanese in school (not that it was offered).

Now if only these 630 disconnect errors would go away I could actually make a little progress. :(
