PSOW CBT Community Video Project 1.2 Thread: VIDEO POSTED, CHECK OTHER THREAD!

What up peeps, I've been getting a few PMs from people asking when I'm going to put out the video I promised. I made this new thread to keep you all updated and to ask a few more things.

First things first, this is the progress so far:

Purple highlighted is some of the footage I have labeled so far. Don't mind the names, it's just notes so I can tell which is which. I have to dig through my folders and label them quickly so I know what to pull from what.

Red highlighted is what is currently being cut, I drag it from purple box into that line, look it over frame by frame and rip out what I need or want and then...

Drag it over into Blue area where I can sort it once I'm completely done cutting.

I'm sorry this is taking so long, there is WAY more footage than I planned and I'm not all that good at this. So I'm doing my best to produce some quality here. I'm not sure when this will be completed, I'm hoping for it to be completely cut by Tuesday and maybe I'll have it up this weekend. The sooner, the better of course.

Originally, this was just going to be the simple clips of the stuff but I decided that I want people to be able to share this video with friends who don't play at some point, to try and convince them to join in. There is already plenty of videos of dances and the like, and no offense to any of them ( I mean that, I appreciate that anyone even uploaded anything for this) but it's hard to share that with someone who isn't familiar with PS or it's community. So hopefully this will be something we can all look back on fondly, or I guess be horrified at how silly we can be. The video is MUCH longer than planned, but it shouldn't go over 15-20 minutes as it stands.


WHAT I NEED FROM YOU

I'm gonna put all the names I can in the credits. Leave your in-game name(s) and your PSOW handle and a short message if you feel like it. Really short guys, please.

I'm open to including screenshots in the credits, link them here and I'll be sure to add it to the vid.

If you know for certain that you were in the vids or had a clip you think should make it, post in this thread please. I partied mostly on Fresh and Einhartic, I usually warned people. I apologize if for some reason you aren't included in the final video, I think this part of the post is more directed to those who came to the club for the big photoshoot, you should remember who you are.

Yes, I will be putting in your shout-outs. There was some nastygrams floating around in there, some symbol chat that shouldn't be shared with anyone (although I did laugh pretty hard) and some comments that weren't super friendly but I don't think anyone's feelings are gonna be hurt if cut those out.


I've picked some music already for it, which was pretty difficult since everyone's taste varies so much. The safe bet is to put just PS related music, but I don't think it's going to work as well for this type of vid, who knows though.

No, I'm not putting SkRaLLeXX Doorstep music. There won't be any rock, or insufferable moe anime music, it'll be something different. You'll see. If for some reason you think a song should be on there that won't get taken down on Youtube, feel free to share it here.


Once again, thank you for everyone who came out and allowed me to creep long enough to record cool stuff. I absolutely love this community and am looking forward to good times in the future.

It was probably some ad they were running on photobucket that set your malware detection off. I wouldn't worry about it being photobucket itself.

But no seriously and no offence to your character, it just really bugs me when an Ansem(Kingdom hearts villian with dark skin and sephiroth hair) ganguro character(Japanese girls that.. dye/fake tan their skin to be brown-orangish and they usually have died red-blonde hair) pops up, and everyone pretends they're black...

Sure it's not impossible, black people can be mixed in a way to have blonde hair and blue eyes, I'm sure someone said there was like a whole race of people that looked like that in africa somewhere or something, there's even black people that can have skin so light, that they look caucasian. D:

But it's kind of unfair to the majority of african americans that get no justice, outside of the Boondocks and a Few Gem anime's here and there, when it comes to either making them as ugly as possible (PSO2 Ramar) or just like... giving them typical anime hair in general. (Naruto makes a whole village of black people? cool-OH NO BUT WAIT, THEY ALL HAVE BLONDE SPIKEY HAIR!)

Then there's those ishvalans...

BUT YEAH, as for Griffin's character at least she actually looks like a black girl. But mostly because black girls can have those asian girl faces and freckles... and she has a black girl hairstyle. Even with the...white hair and red eyes, But I guess that'd be fair ground since that's not really a real racial trait..

I think I have about 600+ gigs worth of footage. The reason it's taking so long besides my actual work and other distractions is because I'm adding a lot more than just our events, there's quite a bit of gameplay and just other silly stuff going on. I haven't even added the screenshots/shout outs yet from this thread.

@Peejay, yeah I have the audio removed for the moment, just too many clips and too much going on. Music will definitely be there, just took it out for the moment so I don't go insane hearing it over and over again while I edit. I'm aware I could just mute that line, but I'm still splitting events, and would have to redo it anyway.

Nah, it should only be about 15-20 minutes once I cut it all down. I wouldn't make you guys suffer 40 minutes of my terrible editing. The screens you are looking at are way zoomed out. I did it so there aren't TOO many spoilers, since I have a few surprises in store. Usually that preview panel is on my second monitor and I have everything taking up my screens all jumbled. It makes sense to me when I look at it, but eh. For screenshot purposes I condensed it down, scrolled the media to the unnamed stuff etc etc.

There's a lot of stuff that made it's way in while I was cutting still because it was just too funny to leave out. So yeah, once you close up all that extra space it won't be nearly as long.
