Long story short, they've decided to go ahead and start Open Beta next week, June 21st Wednesday at 16:00 JST. Data from Open Beta onward won't be deleted so no worries after that. :) Have fun everyone.

not surprised. a JP website leaked a banner with the 21st as the date and there didnt seem to be any hiccups this time around in the pre-open beta, so it only made sense to move quickly into the open beta.

can't wait.

edit: wednesday is the 20th not the 21st is it not? either way, i'm stuck catering a Board of Directors party at work >_<

Time for a stupid question, where can I get the client for the open beta? Or do I have to wait for it to start before I can download it?

I know I'm amped, whether or not I can read JP or not, lol. Such a fun time, in game. It looks like Sega took their time with this one. Kudos to them. I'll be on Thursday, after I get off of work. Looks like my PS3 won't see any action for a while, haha.

Ah, just as I figured, seeing as the lag and latency issues in the Pre-OB were basically nonexistent.

Sweet! Glad there isn't much time to have to wait for OB. I hardly had any motivation to play the pre-OBT since all our chars were gonna get wiped, so I stopped after beating the Desert mission.

same here. i think most people just loitered around the lobby or something. i helped some buddies do the mission and stopped afterwards.

Open beta starts:

"Hidden surprise! All characters that reached level 10+ in pre-ob get a free rappy suit!"

How long does an open beta usually last? Will it be a few hours for a couple of days like the test just gone or will it be for a munch longer period? Also, am I right in thinking we get to keep our characters etc this time?

:).

yes you get to keep your character. Beta's usually go on for about 2 weeks, full days. The beta will include all that the pre-beta did (plus i think the AC stuff), which is basically everything the full game will have except the full game will also include the snow level and a lvl 40 cap instead of lvl 30

But I heard that Rappy Suit allows you to do a color change..

EDIT: Wait, did you read that somewhere, or are you just joking around?

I don't think there is really a free rappy suit for anyone who reached lvl 10 or higher in the pre-open beta. I think he was giving an example of a scenario where his lobby loitering would've turned on him.

example: When the beta starts he finds out that they were giving out free rappy suits! (oh noes he should've been doing runs instead of CODE: DANCE PARTY!)

If I'm not mistaken, the full game will also include the very hard mode, while the open beta only goes up to hard mode.

About the very hard mode, I thought it was mentioned in the 2nd fan briefing (where the desert and snow areas were first announced), but looks like this mode wasn't mentioned there, there hasn't been any announcement related to a very hard mode after all.

Dataminers found stuff related to a very hard mode in the closed beta files though, so even though it wasn't announced that it will be available in the release version, even if it ends up not being available there, it'll be available eventually.

Rappy Doll, not a Rappy Suit.

I think.

The Rappy doll is for registering for the beta before June 20th.

The Bouquet Rifle is for completing the Desert mission during Pre-Open Beta.

I don't believe the rappy suit really exists as a gift yet.

About this, looks like the release version will have just hard mode at first according to this:

Initially, players can choose to play up to Hard difficulty, but they plan to have several types of difficulties. You can unlock these difficulties once you meet a certain condition.http://bumped.org/psublog/pso2-create-more-characters-with-arks-cash/

I saw the dataminers thing about very hard mode before and thought it was actually mentioned in the fan briefing, oh well, it'll be added eventually. ^^;

So we can import our characters from the character creator into the beta right?

I played the PreBeta for half an hour before it went down (I woke up late), but I did happen to see an import button, just want to make sure cause I want to start making my character now :)
