Hello PSO-World community. To my amazement PSO2 works quite well.

Here I show you the interesting problem I have:

As you can see some weather effects make the game a little unplayable.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I didn't play during the CBT and I played the Pre-OBT in lowest settings possible. I'll try to fiddle with the settings during the Open Beta and if I find the solution I'll update this post.

My Laptop' settings is an ATI Xpress 1250 (shader 2.0) "Latest" Catalyst 10.2 Vista (ATI Legacy, no Win7 drivers).

open the pso2_spec_log_beta.txt in the My Documents > SEGA > PHANTASYSTARONLINE2

Find:

Function = {
Blur = false,
LightGeoGraphy = false,
Reflection = false,
LightShaft = false,
SoftParticle = false,
Bloom = false,
Depth = false,
LightEffect = false,
AntiAliasing = false,
},

Change accordingly, they're all turned off in this example but I found turning off soft particle and the lighteffect tends to stop the rain and storms looking like white blobs. Fiddle with them at will and see which works best for your laptop. By default the settings in the option either turns these all on or all off. I don't know if it'll still be the same file for the OBT, but this worked for me.

Remove your drivers and then download and install this http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html
Run it in safe mode and then select AMD then scan your system, remove what it finds then reboot in to normal mode then install your drivers.
Lastly download and install this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
That is DirectX I know it says its from April 2011 but it pulls updates while installing.

Try that and it should help, problem is you wont be able to test it till the OBT goes live.

Thank you for the quick replies!

I ran the DirectX updater and I'll try the user.pso2 settings before reinstalling drivers as I recently formatted my laptop and Catalyst 10.2 are the only drivers I installed.

Hey, I'm running into the exact same problem. Did anyone happen to find a solution? I've tried what Kazzi and Neoistheone said, but neither solutions are working for me.

The new PSO2 update fixed the shader problem, it's working as it should be now :)
