If you played pre-open beta, do you have to sign up for open-beta?

side note: anyone know where you get your early registration code, and desert mission code?

I also have a question.

i signed up like... a long time ago so idk how it works now but for a friend who's interested in this game, do you need to create a SEGA ID AND sign up? or can you just use a SEGA ID, and open up the client to start playing?

You need to do both.

Need ID from SEGA Japan.
Need to Download the Game.

Unless your Friend live close to you, then you can 'Copy' your PSO2 on a Flash Drive/Memory Card for Her/Him. (No worries. Not your PSO2 Game Files) Where you downloaded or saved at.
Just this: http://i45.tinypic.com/zwdx7q.jpg

By doing so, Your Friend can save the 2 to 3 hours of download time.
Your Friend still have to Patch it after it is install.

One More thing.

Your Friend can get the ID, and use your computer and start playing.

Uncheck the box below your "User ID".

However! When your friend decide to take it home, or play at other locations.
The PSO2 Server may (most likely will) need to comfirm IP change.

This is on a "Proper" Computer. Meaning all "Genuine" Hardware/Software.!!!

Yes. Totally do able.

By Default: Those Files should be at your 'DeskTop'. (Unless you move them)
And You don't really need the 'downloder'. I have it in there just to complete the package.

Make a File Folder on your 'Removeable' Drive. Copy them.
And put those Copy Files to any which PC you need to install. (You can run them from the 'RD", Just takes longer to install)

Remember!
>>> Anti Virus/Microsoft Security Essentials <<<< --- OFF. (If you have them)
>>> Right Click at the PSO2_SETUP, And Run as administrator.

My problem is that, even though I do have a SEGA ID, I don't remember my password. I can't navigate through the Japanese SEGA ID websites to find out how to reset it either.

Is there any way you can also share the downloaded patch to a different PC instead of having to re-download? I would love to know.

Your very last bet is to 'Ditch' the one you've forgot the Password.

Get another email. And Re-Do what are needed

Bad Idea of the Century!!
No-one can tell you what went wrong. When things do go wrong.

End result...
You will need to 'Un-install'. Re-Dwonload. Install. Wait for the Patch.
That is 5 mins for the unstall.
2-3 hours for the download.
8-15 mins for the Install.
2-3 hours for the patch.
(Approx... Your ISP, Your Hardware will be the Variance.)

Oh! Yes. Hopefully patching you can do it with one shot. No Error's.
Simple Match.

Of Course. Those are your time. ^-
