Dragon's Dogma.

Go grab it. Seriously, it's a lovely, lovely game. The action combat is easy to get into after PSO2 (actually, they share some similarities), the character creation is almost as in-depth, the world is beautifully rendered and the boss fights are truly, truly glorious!

The only downside is it's not co-op, but I've been having so much fun with it that I find it difficult to care.

After playing in pre-OBT, nothing is nearly as fun. I guess I could try to play Diablo 3 for the next 3 days. However, having made it to act 2 inferno, I am more likely to just do nothing for the next 3 days. Still can't wait...

Try Global Agenda. It's the same story of, find a group of four, kill stuff, reach a boss and kill it. It's a bit more RPGy, in that there's a tank, healer, support, and DpS. But it's all action based. There's experience, and your character can get alot stronger, but skill is the major thing making you better.
Character customization is better for your armor than your face or especially body, but you can get some pretty cool looking armor (purely visual, too).

Everyone's a ranger though.

After playing some PSO2, Tera became very uninteresting to me. @_@

And Everquest II got boring after so many people left... and then everyone is level 90. I have a level 65 character with no one to group with. .-.

Same. It's not even in the same league as PSO2. I laugh every time I see TERA's little "True Action Combat" tagline now, because compared to PSO2's combat, TERA's is boring as hell.

Shit, compared to PSO2 right now, just about anything I try to do is boring as hell.

Maybe I'm just too old or stay too busy or something to be all that riled up about PSO2. I'm going to play it for sure, but I really don't get the fiending I'm seeing here. PSO2 just isn't the greatest thing in my life right now? Iunno.

They need to make more MMOs like PSO2. More hack and slash or third person shooting, not that click on an enemy and watch your character attack automatically as you press hotkeys....zzzzzzzz.....

Yeah, I don't feel like going back to any of my previous games now that I've played it. Just seems like a waste of time, honestly. Nothing compares to it so far, in my opinion. .-. Now to find something to do to distract myself for a few days....

I suppose if there's a demo, I see no reason to not try it. I've just read and seen and heard from numerous sources (websites, friends, etc.) say that it's utter poopie, to put it kindly (save for the combat). Guess I'll try it out, though.

Tera is okay.

But I've mainly been killing time playing Sonic CD on my droid.

Lintor
Jun 17, 2012, 08:39 PM
Tera isn't so bad, though honestly, even if both Tera and PSO2 are grindy kill x monster for drop at 50% after a point, I think the dungeon running made PSO2 more interesting. I'd say the combat is on par with each other, depending on really wither you like having more skills or just a few. But its still just open world kill x, while dungeon running is at least different.

I've been playing DC Universe to pass the time, that and watching Archer. DCUO I thought was fun, does a lot right for an f2p game, however I have 0 interest in its post game.

I'd recommend not trying to find something to directly fill in PSO2, so not really an MMO, but like, idk, finish Skyrim or something else you started, enjoyed, but got too distracted to finish.

Or start a game of Civ if you're into that... I think its what I'm gonna do.

---
I think if TERA went f2p, it might just be the biggest f2p game, and would likely slaughter PSO2, sad to say. Not because its better, just because. If WoW taught us anything, its that 11 million people CAN be wrong.

Polly
Jun 17, 2012, 09:05 PM
Gameplay-wise, I enjoy both Tera and PSO2 equally. They both have merits and share quite a bit in common with being pretty grindy. It's vastly easier to get a game going with random folks with less of a hassle in PSO2 though. I quit playing Tera because it's community is poop from a butt, but even with as intolerable as some portions of this community can sometimes be, I've rarely ever had problems dealing with anyone's nonsense actually in game, be it PSO/PSU/PSO2.

But when I did play in Korea, it was amazing. Also once upon a time GunZ was amazing...

That doesn't...

What websites are you talking about? Critics have it pegged in the mid-high 70s (on a scale of 100), users have it from low-mid 80s on Metacritic, and frankly, for a game this well-made, "utter poopie" makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, even if you were trying to be cruel for the sake of being cruel.

It's a seriously good action-RPG. Frankly, I'm amazed it turned out as well as it did considering it's Capcom's first outing in the genre.

MMO's suck balls as games alone, they're fun because there's 54343 players. So if you want 54343 people to talk to, you may as well just sit here...

Spending my time on Tera for the most part. During the downtime of that I'm TRYING to improve my skills at the Gradius titles and make progress through Atelier Rorona so I can finally move on to Totori and Meruru.

Also, I'm in agreement that some people are hyping PSO2 a bit tooooo much, it's a fun and great looking title so far but it doesn't instantly obsolete anything else right now. It just means you're jaded.

It's funny how nobody here cares for any other games anymore once they got a taste of pso2....everything else does seem a bit boring yeah, but maybe cause we're all too hyped up for pso2 after the frame with psu. I guess?

I also approve of recommending Xenoblade and the last story. Have yet to try Pandora's tower myself though.

lol blade and soul is really not that good in terms of combat/gameplay. it doesn't really bring anything new to the table, and to make it worse, it's point and click. indeed it is slightly more engaging than other games, but it's still point and click nonetheless. which means it's shit quite honestly. i don't really care how good the combat system is, point and click games will always be many levels of entertainment below a game that has nontargeting combat. it takes the whole point of getting good at a game away, you don't refine your reflexes to get good at the game, you just point and click. sure you may think of strategies etc. for what skills to use next etc., but it doesn't match the excitement actually dodging and guarding attacks gives.

i played blade and soul on a private server for a while so i'm not entirely spewing shit outta my mouth. it was a big let down, considering how much time this game has been taking to develop.

in terms of F2P with cash shop, pso2's biggest competitor is potentially mabinogi 2, but we don't know what type of combat it will have. if mabi 2 is point and click i think pso2 will reign supreme, unless mabi 2 thinks of something inconceivably amazing, despite it being point and click. I'LL SAY DIS DOE, MABI2 GOT SUM HELLLLA REALISTIC JIGGLE GFX. mabi2 will definitely outshine pso2 in terms of graphics by far. but ay, if i wanted to shake the snake i'd just go watch some porn. when i wanna play a game and have fun, i wanna play a game that's actually entertaining. constant sexual stimulation from wandafuru graphics and jiggle physics is not nearly as fun as the superb combat pso2 supplies, and the snake can only be shook for so long. after it is shook, you then ask yourself, WHAT IS LEFT FOR ME IN THIS GAME? NOTHING BUT A MISERABLE PILE OF ass n titties that i'm too drained to be excited about anyway (COUGH TERA /BNS LOLCOUGH WHY CAN'T ARCHERS MOVE AND SHOOT IN TERA LOLOLLCOUGHCOUGHCOUGH and yeah i know tera is nontarget but it's so slow it may as well be point and click loooooooooooool)
