View Full Version : Okay, so we know wind is an element for weapons

And so far that I know of Foie Barta and Zonde are confirmed. Megid and Grants will probably be back. Which makes me wonder. Will forces be getting a Wind element spell?

They probably will.

So does that mean they'll probably expand the skill trees as it's added in?

Not necessarily. There are several things that don't care about element.

We actually have Grants and Gigrants confirmed - one of the NPCs uses them regularly, and in the CB would give a Gigrants disc after using her enough.

Data for "Zan" has been found in some of the clients. So the wind tech will be out eventually.

That'd be awesome. I'd really like to see some cool wind techs.

Same, Wind is always my favorite element in a RPG

I would hope that wind, dark, and light get added to the skill tree. Though it would probably make the Force's skill tree the biggest and the longest of the 3 classes. Who knows, they may also add support as well for people who like to heal and buff.

EDIT: Also grants was also in the CBT. It only hit one enemy but hit i 3 or 4 times i think. It was pretty weak though.

Seeing as there are quite a few techs for forces (and hopefully more to come), I think it'd be acceptable for their skill tree to be a bit larger than the other two. With the same amount of skill points available as all other classes, it'd really allow a FO player to fully specialize in one or two specific tech paths, or be more spread out.

I'm betting that skills involving future Hunter Weapons (their own gear gauges), Wind, Light, and Dark techniques are going to have their own independent skill tree that works at the same time as the current one. SEGA probably would not want to "anger" people by doing something that suddenly "ruins" their current skill tree.

We also know what Wind techniques will look like a little; as if you've hit a Wind-weak enemy with a weapon with Wind %, you might have noticed green-colored streaks (this effect applies to all elements too).

I really hope forces can specialize in an element (especially light), instead of having to branch and master them all. I would love a light elemental wizard.

I understand WHY people want the element theme, but at the same time I feel like it hinders the nature of a TECH specialist. It's like everyone is afraid to have a little variety.

I like the idea of messing with all techs as opposed to just one branch, I was even a little ticked off when I looked at the skill trees, element specializing just limits FOs I think. Oh well.

Wait, so the wind techs are really still called -zan? Oh happy day...

...no to figure out what happens if one person casts barta and another casts zan...

Just a thought but aren't shifta and deband out, with no skills for them? Didn't poke at FO much and obviously can't check my tech list anymore.

I clearly remember seeing a green vacuum-ish icon on a tab in the tecnics PA menu. there were five tabs, one for each element we know of, plus this one.
Sorry if that was already pointed out.

In any case, wind being by far my favorite element in about any form of media, I can't wait.

There better be, since I had been planning on using wind + lightning primarily for a sort of storm themed FO.

I can not wait to see what the wind techs (almost called them spells) look like.

They are. However, no jellen or zalure. So maybe they will add a support tree later for those 4 plus resta and anti. I hope they do, i can see myself becoming a support FO. longer buffs, bigger AoE for resta.

Iv always imagined wind looking similer to that wind slash pa for swords back in cbt

Aren't Shifta, Deband and Resta fire, ice and light techs respectively, just like in psu?

If I'm not mistaken, rangers have a jellen shot? It might be that rangers are the ones that debuff now, though I haven't really played the class enough to be sure.

Yes, but what he's referring to is that there are no skills that affect those techs in any way currently. Just skills for damage and the like.

Well in PSU, even with the GAS shop thing, if you got a boost to your fire or ice spells, it didn't effect buffs or debuffs. There was a separate option for that (if i remember correctly. I never actually played with the GAS shop at all). This was also present in PSP2/i. Buffs weren't effected by increasing anything fire or ice related. So i would imagine that they would do the same thing here.

I need to know. Since were on the subject of elements, how does the elemental system work (which is strong/weak against who, etc.)?

I believe the enemy shows what they're weak against. So if an enemy has a fire symbol next to his name, he's weak against fire.

This is correct. The monkey enemies in the forest had both wind and fire icons under their name during pre-OB, so hitting them with either element would count as a weakness. There doesn't appear to be any penalty for using opposites (i.e. using barta on a fire weak enemy wouldn't do reduced damage like in PSU)
