I know pso2 has a trading system, but does it have a mail system????

Yes, there seems to be a mail option.

If it includes sending items it will probably be premium, or that option alone will be premium.

You can send text mails to friends, but mails with items, I don't think there's any option for that.

Go to the third Menu Square "Communications" (bottom bar when in lobby). "Mail" is the 4th option from the top.

Alternatively you can click on another character and "Send Mail" is the 4th option from the top.

There is no item mail. Sega wants you to pay to be able to trade items.
