Guide on getting registered and able to play Open Beta?

Any way I can get a link or an expedited explanation on getting to play in the Open Beta if I haven't at all been involved so far?

Actually, quick side question about that here rather than making a new topic... Can we still send invites to other people? I only ever invited one person and I don't remember how now >_< Would like to invite someone I met the other day :(
