Starting class bonuses?

It's my first post on the forum so hi everyone :D
My question is if I start as Hunter and then switch my class to ranger it's same as if I create new char with ranger class, or does starting class give u some kind of bonuses?

The only bonus I noticed is that you get a starter weapon and a PA/Tech for the class you start as, so if you started as a Hunter and switch to a Force, you won't have any techs nor a weapon.

I did notice that as I switched classes, ran the first mission and got level 2, then came back to the ship area the appropriate class npc would give me 1 of each weapon type along with a quest to get 20 forest kills with that weapon. But I didn't get any techs for free switching to force :(

Just buy some Technic Disks? They're only 500 meseta each from the shop.
