the two (or uh... 3) items they added to the shops are temporary buff items similar to agataride (shifta) and defbaride (deband) from psu

as for the screen shot, the first one is a device (either mag cell or something for synthing/grinding/attributing; those are awarded as gacha prizes), the second is a grinder, third is a photon drop, fourth is synthesizer and the last is a sol atomizer (which was also added to the shops... my bad).

What exactly is the synthesizer for? The icon suggests it has something to do with elements.

it's for adding/adjusting elements to your weapons/armors at the npc who also does grinding.
