That explains it, I was running around the forest for the last five minutes without monsters spawning or the map updating.

Gigantic lag on Ship 2 (not sure about the rest); I thought escaping to block 35 would keep me safe but I was wrong! I decided to do a quick Rockbear run (Free-Field Forest) and just before he died, damage stopped popping up on his head. I kept wailing on him for another minute or two before the "loot crystal" dropped but he was still standing up.

I went afk for about 5-6 minutes before he finally fell over, the crystal finally broke open and I got the completion credit. Everything somehow 'caught up' (Mag got finally fed) but I figure it was a good time to stop playing so I logged for the time being :p

I was in the city with a full party.
One person left by the end of the lag, and I explored the entire area I was in.
Then we only had 3 minutes to kill the boss.
