Matterboard question

Other than getting to the golden orbs for story quests is there a point to the matter board

like, is there a point to completing the matter board 100%, or even doing 1 of the missions off the fastest route?

There seems to be a small relationship between client orders you can receive and your completion of matter board quests.

You might as well do them. They're on-the-way 90% of the time. Backtracking in this game is also highly necessary.
