problem: i got no kills why?

hi there, i got a quest from maloo, to kill 20 creatures with a rod(the first wepon for a porce right? this opening staff) i went to the level 7 dungeon and killed thoes monkey,birds etc... and i got no kills why? who are the forest nattives?
thnx alot for help!
btw: whats a tail? i need to kill after this quest 20 native creatures to with a tail, what is it?

I just played the first quest and had no problems with kills counting.

A talis is the card throwing weapon.

that is wierd, i am using this rod(the staff that opens right?), you need to kill melee combat with the rod, or you can use a powers too?

You just need to hold the rod while killing enemies, you can use techniques normally.

You have to kill them with the weapon she gives you. Or one of the same name
The order says which weapon you need in your hands for the kills to count
