If the game is crashing on startup, make sure your PC is powerful enough to run the game.

Update your video drivers, and try turning down the game's graphics settings.

How do I repair?

I had the same problem where it would crash at the starting video with the same error.

I fixed it by re-downloading the game fresh and patching. Sadly, this will take awhile but it's the only way I found to fix it.

Error 434- Interactions with another Application: (Picture under spoiler):
[SOLUTION- Usually caused by Avast Anti-virus: Disable while playing, or make an exception for PSO2. Can also be caused by a screen saver on some setups- try disabling your screen saver- Thanks Meanie!

Is there another application requiring your video card active, like a screensaver or something? Could also just temporarily disable your AV every time you play PSO2. Just stay off social media and shady websites while it's disabled.

Wow I use Avast as well.

Anyways that error happens to me when I log out and back in, or when my screen get's really bright and for some reason then my display driver fails. Heh.

I don't really know what way to prevent it from happening. I'll try disabling Avast and see if it happens again.

GameGuard (Initialization Error?)

[SPOILER-BOX]http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194228[/SPOILER-BOX]

Also from The Great Error Thread (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194598) it doesn't say a solution. But, you could try deleting GameGuard and re-downloading it by deleting the GameGuard folder in ...\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin

I use Avast too, yet, I have not had a problem with it (knock on wood).

I Use VIPRE antivirus

You can also try to disable your anti-virus completely and run the launcher with admin. See if that works too.
