Nope. I just keep this open (http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/katakana.htm), so I can punch in the characters and learn the phrase myself. It's fun.

I do if I'm talking to a JP friend or searching for stuff in player shops but otherwise I'm not too talkative while playing missions and such.

You have the languages backwards. THAT I have open all the time.

Not only do I have it open, but it's apart of my homepage tabs in Firefox. It's hardly perfect, but in a JP party, I can copypasta something they say for a rough idea of what they're saying.

I can't read that, really. Kind of useless (to me, and others).

I keep Google Translate as well as the Wiki articles for Hiragana+Katakana up, in case I want to translate text I can't copy. I am not ashamed.

EDIT:

I can't read that, really. Kind of useless (to me, and others).

Also this.

You can set up Google Chrome to auto-translate entire pages automatically every time you visit them.

Try pasting a url into google translate like you would any other text. It gives you a link to the translated page.

The JP wiki is at least useful for obtaining the Japanese text for an item I want to search on the visiphone, if you can navigate well enough to find it. I've been looking for a Thousand Limb outfit and it's been handy. Of course, all I find are white ones listed for stupid amounts of meseta...

Just buy the default color from the armor/clothing NPC shop (and recolor later)?

I do the exact same thing, but mainly for 5 star swords and affixes. Some of the text doesn't seem to work, so you might want to punch it in manually with lexilogos and copy it from there (ragne soul gave me trouble for ages, I really just figured ragne soul items sold like hotcakes).

I guess I could just buy a rappy suit and get a recolor ticket, but...well, it's not like I can't afford it. I just have this thing hoarding money in whatever game I'm in.

It's okie. Literally 90% of PSO-W translation guides come from that wiki anyway so not a whole lot of reasons to visit it.

I have a dual screen set up that I can keep Google translate up along with a couple of others for quick reference.

same+^_^+ if you have firefox, i have this on it https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/2233877/?src=api

also this to help narrow down item searches in the player shop (some guides have translations you can copy/paste like the fun scratch item list, but sometimes they are mucked up, like when a ソ *so* is mistaken for a ン *n*) http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/katakana.htm

and this for chat's with JP players and system messages http://translate.google.com/#ja|en|

I use it a lot for learning purposes. I use Microsoft IME to type in whatever I need and copy in Kanji so I can expand my library of words. My Japanese Vocabulary sucks so using google translate for single words works well. It is utterly terrible for sentences tho...

i don't play with japanese players enough to use google translate.

i keep bumped.org, the jpwiki and wikipedia's katakana tables up for my references. #kanyeshrug

I have a whole monitor dedicated to langauge instruction and translation. At least 4 windows of the related material. And yes...even google translate

My japanese is actually progressing. Now i just need to finish learning Katakana and hirigana. So far i can speak it...but not write it yet.

But im getting there :D. Besides, japanese will look really good on a resume 8-)

I run PSO2 through steam so I can use the in game overlay. Normally have bumped and the interface translation post open in it.

Nah; Google Translate is ridiculously hit or miss. I keep some tables at my side for reference, and force myself to sound things out. I can actually recognize about half of Katakana at a glance, now, and to hammer in the memory I'll force myself to remember what they actually are and say. If I don't, I make myself look it up again until I don't have to.

It's slow going, but gratifying when I can read something.
