Warning for UK Gamecube server

Be warned there appears to be a major issue on the UK Gamecube server.

Both myself and a friend have been logged off this evening 25/03/2003 c. 6.30pm GMT, when going into a game or quitting from the lobby.

This is corrupting the memory card files and hence deleting ALL the characters on the card

I do not know if this is affecting anyone else but please be warned it wipes the whole card.

Friend got it first and I was trying to get on to see what was happening, but have just lost a lv 4 chara completely
Really hope it is just us, hate to think ogf anyone else losing there charas, but we are 250 miles apart so not a local exchange issue

Hmmm. I ran into a similiar fault when it flushed all data from my card (sob... all those SSBM trophies...), but it was a 3rd party memory card... is your card official?

actually no it isn't, have one that is but was trying my spare chara to test it.

Don't really want to try my main charas til get some confirmation.
lv 24, 22, 8 and 15 respectively....hence don't want to risk

Thank you very much for the info.
typical nintendo, spent years on the Sega DC PSO's, went through 4 unoffical 4 slot memcards, with 18 charas and never an issue !!

Ive a level 70 Char and not a problem online as way of Losing Chars...had a few FSODS :/ But nothing i cant handle

erm BBA came out along with PSO in the UK.. I have one right here in my gamecube.. :-/

I had an unfortunate incident when quitting an OFFLINE game. It didn't recognise my card, yes it is official, and then it says it was corrupted! BOOMA CLAW! DB'S SABRE! LV 32 HARD RUINS! ALL QUESTS DONE IN NORMAL, ALL MINIGAMES! I can't go on. What I'm saying its not the official mem card.

samething happen to me when i got the game luckily the char was only level 18 and didnt get to far...

i had a similae thing happen but it was a fsod in spica block 7 lobby 9 and i lost most of my god items. thank god for good friends who helped replace the items

I live in England and have been using the US version of the game since 3 days after its release...ive been fsod`d about 6 times in 400 online hours, not even a sniff of a corruption...all these people claiming to have been corrupted is amazing to me.

Same thing hapened to me during my first week playing this game. I wanted a small break from using my Hucaseal and decided to create a FOmar on my other ( and official )memory card ( I used another memory card to check to see if the temp character tranfer thing reaaly worked or not ), I also had the bright idea to try and start a two player game and transfer a whole bunch of stuff from my HUcaseal to my FOmar. At first things went well, that was untill I quit the game and tried to transfer my FOmar back to his original memory card, thats when the game told me my data was currupted and that my memory card had not been configured, thankfully the problem was on my FOmar's side and non of my HUcaseal's data was affected but that makes me affraid to ever try the two memory card thing ever again since I had to delete my Fomar entirely.

Once some bright spark at Datel or wherever figures out how, there's bound to be a 'save your character to another card' code for the Action Replay allowing for safe backups of characters. Unfortunately of course, this'll open the floodgates for all kinds of other codes and hey, after a while it'll probably end up like the DC version. But that's the price, ne?

Isn't it interesting how the action replay and PSO came out in the UK at juuuust around the same time? Hmm. I'll bet PSO fans all over felt a sudden shiver =P
