What do these things mean? (pictures inside, dunno how to describe them)

I've tried looking around the forum for it, but I don't know what it's called, so it's difficult to search for. Looked through the guides on bumped too and didn't see anything.

Has it been said what this thing means/does yet? There is also another one that comes up occasionally, which makes the same odd sound before going away.

Also, just curious, what does the light that occasionally comes out of enemies do? I figured it'd related to photon blasts but wasn't sure.

It means... something.

The bursts of light correspond to PSE levels raising. It also notes this in the chatlog. Once one type maxes out, you'll get a PSE burst. Max more at once for more! PSE burst gives you more goodies.

It's really just notifying you that PSE level is rising.

I don't know if it actually means anything else.

There are 3 PSE colors: Red, Blue, and Yellow

Once one of the colors gets to level 8, a PSE burst occurs. When this happens, monsters will spawn at a fast rate for 1 minute, and have higher chances of dropping rare gear.

You can also extend the time limit of the burst I think if you defeat enough enemies during it, or get "ONE MORE TIME" which gives you another full minute (yet no idea how to do this)

This is just the basics of it. PSE rates can be risen based on the amount of players in the area (not counting npcs) as well as the current weather.

Hmm.. that wiki is missing one. It looks like a red version of a cardiac monitor, I seem to get it a fair bit but have no idea what it correlates to, but it doesn't seem to be the same as the flame bonus one.

I had this happen for me the other night, except the screen was white instead of red. And I had some.. different sound than a heartbeat, but I can't remember what it was. Think it was like a chime or something..

Sorry to bump this, but I would like to know that as well. If we're referring to the same thing, it's a bit rainbow-ish, and sounds a little like resta, too. Happened to me twice, and I have absolutely no idea what this means.

...actually, this might increase the odds of PSE bursts by A LOT, because I got one all by myself right after the second one. Or rather, pop an enemy that gives a rainbow PSE when killed, instantly getting one of the buffs from whatever level it was to nine, thus triggering a burst. That's what I remember happening to me...

Anyone can confirm this?
