Captain Rockbear: Defender of the Forest!

I was gonna post this on the screenshots and videos thread but I felt it would be better on it's own.

It seems that in order to make up for the clusterfuck that was my last run, free forest hard decided to reward me by introducing me to the single most badass creature in the entire game. I have a bunch of screen shots and recorded a few low quality soundless videos (I wasn't prepared to record at the time). Which I'll upload later.

So... here's how it started. I was doing free forest hard, as usual. A rock bear with a level one infection jumps out. Nothing unusual. The fight barely started before I'm suddenly in the middle of this.

Yes, once again a code avoid decided to inturrupt my rock bear fight. I wasn't going to make the same mistakes as before though, I wasn't half asleep... But what's that?

Another code attack? With a Breeada? Ok fine, I'll just run in circles until this code avoid ends, fair enough. The darkers look distracted anyway.

So I ran around a bit but when I came back what did I see? The native animals and darkers having an all out brawl with the breeada and Rockbear going at eachother while the Galfs, Aginis, and Oodan took on the Dagan swarm (Taking pot shots at me when there weren't enough Dagan ;; ).

I saw the Rockbear grab a few dagans but didn't manage to get a good screen shot. That was impressive but nothing special... Then this happened.

I was flabbergasted. He just grabbed the Breeada out of the air and threw it on the ground harder than Andy Samberg. It was then that I knew this rockbear meant business. This was HIS forest and he took shit from NO ONE.

Unfortunately the breeada seemed to have figured this out too and started cheating.

I had to give rockbear a hand. I intended to simply lure the breeada away but this rockbear had beat the thing up so much it died in about 3 or 4 shots. Had I lured the rockbear away and then let him switch back to the breeada when it came out he could have killed the thing him self.

At this point there was just me and the rock bear. I took him on for a bit but I couldn't bring my self to fight such a noble and heroic creature. I headed to the boss room, hoping that if someone decided to attack that particular rockbear that he'd still put up a good fight.

But... what now?

It's our old friend Ragu-neechan! I really didn't feel like fighting her and then it dawned on me. I lured ragne back to a larger area, before getting the rockbear, He wasn't too happy to see me since I whacked his face a few times, but as soon as he saw ragne he knew what he had to do.

He rallied his Oodan troops and went on the offensive.

It didn't take long for the Oodan to fall but this rockbear continued to fight. He was no ordinary Rockbear... he was CAPTAIN Rockbear: Defender of the Forest!

Alas... Captain Rockbear was defeated, but he went down fighting... and I took it upon my self to avenge him.

He will continue to live in my heart as the true defender of the forest giving me the strength to fight the Darkers no matter how dire the situation.

It was mostly just luck, and me deciding not not just kill everything. That's how I end up with screenshots of dancing with rappies, and why I don't bring bots most of the time.


After that story, if somehow you managed to defeat the Dark Ragne, it should have dropped a Ragne Answerer with a Rockbear soul on it ;w;I did beat the ragne, (with the help of some guy who showed up near the end and may have actually been the one to kill captain rock bear with a stray sonic arrow but I digress ; A; ), but it didn't drop anything. I kinda hoped the rockbear would drop a weapon so I could use it for ever and be like lvl 50 in the fall with rockbear soul 2* or 3* weapon and whenever someone asks why I use it, I'd tell them about captain rockbear... I'm content with just getting to see all that though.

I think I've seen that one. This just had a lot of impact for me because I did very little other than trying to lure Captain Rockbear and Ragu-neechan togeather.

What if one of hte story quests has you investigating the darkers in a said area. and they appeared and you were hopelessly outnumbered by the darkers! until Captain Rockbear (and his monkey minions) came along and pwned along side you. and once they died he turned on you :D

Lol, I had some similar stuff happen to me today. I was in forest grinding some items for a client order when I hit a code avoid, so I started to run and no more then probably 30 feet from where the avoid spawned ragne jumps out. So I run by him and then like another 20-30 feet from ragne I get a code protect. So I'm like "wow this is crazy, now I gotta try and do this". So I'm running circles around this crashed ship some how managing to stay away from the avoid and keep everything off the ship and then a rockbear jumps into the mess. Was the craziest thing I've run into so far. I managed to complete the Avoid & Protect, but then I lost sight of ragne and he jumped on my face and then clobbered me while stunned. Safe to say i came back and got my sweet revenge of him and the rockbear :D

Dark Falz is simply an opponent not meant to be fought by meager lowbies. It must be properly fought by highbies, because otherwise the nostalgia of certain PSO1 shmucks would not be sated, and thus this series falls short on bringing the joy for said hardcore PSO1 fans.

Although, since King can or cannot directly imply meaning "God" then it stands to reason that Dark Falz can still fit in as the "God" of the Dagans - despite the fact they don't even look sentient enough to even worship a god.

My belief though is that Ragne is a Hulk-class Darker, dwarfing even Breeada when it comes to size. The true "King" of the Darkers would be so big, it would probably take up an entire room or something - not to mention if Ragne were defeated, would that not end PSO2's story then and there if it were a "King" as you say?

The fuck are you talking about? There's a bunch of different Darker species. Just because Ragne is the biggest Dagan doesn't make him Dark Falz. You're thinking way too hard about a simple statement, bud.
