Sending/receiving a card without the person online?

Is there a way to send a card to somebody who is offline? I accidentally deleted a card of somebody who I enjoy playing with, and am trying to find a way to get in touch with them that isn't...waiting until I see them in the lobby by random chance.

I believe you can search for them on the visiphone, but there's multiple options and I'm not sure which of the options does which so I'm afraid to experiment with it.
